Challenger 2 MBT - Technical data and Discussion (Part 2)

So aim between the turret cheeks then, guaranteed 1 shot there. Meanwhile I’ve nailed a 2A7V in the gun breach before with a DM53 and not even disabled the gun breach.

Cool you compared it to the 2A4M and not a tank with good turret armour. Remember this is Britains top tier tank.

As we have already answered, we don’t plan a further one currently. We will be posting individual responses directly to reports.

The point is that its turret armour is pretty much as good as it gets for a top MBT, besides the breach which is a weakness for any tank.

2A7, T90M, STRV122 M1A2 SEPV3 all have superior turret armour

Any word on those bug reports being fixed then?

like fixing the aluminium backplate for steel?

That was a bug report in direct response to the last dev blog for the Challenger 2

As you would know, we update reports with their status and outcome when we have any news to share on that front.

To what end though. It can stop DM53 from an L55, that’s enough for the vast majority of circumstances.

The 2A7 has few weaknesses in the frontal ark, the turret has the smallest breach spot the turret cheeks are impenetrable. The hull itself also only has 2 weak spots, the driver port/turret ring (a 50/50 shot)
Or the lower front plate but that wont kill the tank.
The CR1-2-3 all have a weak front plate, a massive breach weak spot and turret cheeks that can be penetrated, from certain angles and a turret roof that is incorrectly modelled so hull down you can just shoot that and take out the turret crew.

These tanks are not even close in terms of performance yet they are at the same BR

Challenger 2 can’t stop 1200mm CE ATGMs like Kornets or Hellfires to it’s turret cheeks. Does it really matter ? Probably not, it’s very uncommon to die that way but it is a possibility. I still hope for the TES ERA CE protection fix.

now that they have reverted the cr3TD to 1200hp, does anyone have the torque specs on the cv12-9a?

They need to rework gear ratios and even try to give the cr1-2-3 some form of regen steering

Not even the wedge of the Leopard 2 can stop that. It will stop Ataka/Vikhr/Refleks/TOW-2 but so can the CR3.

i think there would be better luck finding non classified data saying the cr3 prototypes have 1500hp than regenerative steering coming to this “realistic tank simulator”

If they don’t use correct gearing the torque is irrelevant

i know but good luck with getting any meaningful changes to transmissions it seems vehicles are modeled completely off HP

Idk, I don’t have a problem getting killed through the Leo UFP

Its rarely a one shot and the top plate the round bounces into the breach and disappears or damages it.

That will be fixed,

That’s always been an issue they are just using WW2 tank physics
