They are gonna see those are K1 blocks and give it 5mm extra armor.
So gaijin does another ahistorical nerf to a British vehicle
While giving Russian tanks an ahistorical buff… again
For context, in the same patch as the CR2 nerf they also almost entirely reverted the BMPT’s gun accuracy nerf. It’s now basically the same as it was before.
Just an absolute joke of a company
I mean it’s still wunderwaffe yes? Because the mantlet shouldn’t be filled in as it’s a tech demonstrator yes? And if they add the Chally 3 production that would be what, a 2028 vehicle? I’m fine with it as long as they model things right, and balance properly I could care less about date atp.
Its not even been reversed
Its been fucked truely

Current Dev

1st Dev

It has the external pins, and not where the Pins are on the inside
Thats just completely illogical
this is what i mean- isnt that in theory a structural weakspot now?
With my limited MS paint skills, this is basically what they have done. the red lines are now weak spots in the metal, or shear points.
This makes more sense, however Gaijin wont accept it.
Edit: I apologize how absurdly terrible my MS paint skills are, I’m no painter.
what is the point any more the devs have no intention to fix the CR2
The russian 10.3/10.7 lineup has even made those brs unplayable for me. The 292 i hate with pure rage.
okay. ((i cant believe its come to this))
I just spent about 10 minutes in blender meshing up what the trunnion SHOULD look like… I don’t understand how its so difficult for Gaijin to understand this…
This is what we have currently… as you can see there are great gaping holes where the trunnion pins should go. It’s crucial that they are there, as they are what the trunnion pins go into and the whole gun pivot’s on those pins.
This is what is missing. Two large pins that sit inside the trunnion that allow it to pivot on them. These act as pivot point and would increase the armour in the areas where the holes are.
So finally this is what it should look like when complete. The pins sit in those holes, allowing the trunnion to rotate on them.
My 3d modeling skills aint the best but, please, please sort this out.
Many reports have been thrown at gaijin about this, many that reenforce this design.
The fact that the only way CR2 will actually get a buff is if the devs make a mistake screams volumes.
Crumbs - we couldn’t have a vehicle with it’s actual armour being released could we? Unless it’s Russian - in which case they certainly will - and even in many cases add an extra 100mm or so hidden armour just to make doubly sure (cough- IS-6 -cough).
I have words that would describe the devs - but they are fruity and I’ll probably get banhammered. Let’s just settle for saying I think they’re the biggest bunch of unfathomably insert whatever words one deems to be appropriate I’ve ever had the misfortune to come across.
It’s all by design, I told you it was pointless trying. They literally just hate the challenger 2 in particular, the more stupid they can make it look the better.
you can’t get the pins inside that mantlet
They’re inside in, and theres a whole nother part of the mantlet to go in that gap
so my design is currently based off of gaijin’s one. This what you have sent, is what it is suppose to look like. they should note the lack of trunnion pins, meaning that the gaps left behind by them missing would have to be filled OR THE GUN WILL FALL OFF.
I have to spell this out to them or they will ignore it.
It may be a surprise (to gaijin), but the trunnion pins hold the trunnion in place, which hold the gun in place. without them, the whole thing is free floating which doesn’t agree with physics.
Just look at how flippin strong that would be. This dumbass game.
I might just start asking stupid questions like “can I get a devs explanation for what a gun trunnion is for?”
A smart developer and I know that in short supply at old Gaijin would have allowed the BMP-T to switch fire modes and for the single shot retain the previous accuracy and for the full auto mode, add the new dispersion.
I don’t understand why they just do not ever think
My whole point making the 3d model, even though it would not work because “how do you get the pins in there” is that; I made that in 10 minutes. Not just the pins, the WHOLE trunnion. its no perfect by any stretch, but if that took me 10 minutes, imagine what a professional modeler can do in an hour, or a day, or a week even. Instead of them getting this wrong 100 times and blaming us for it; how about they use common sense, look at the source material being provided to them, and get it right the first time.
My model isnt accurate. not at all; however its closer to the real solution than what gaijin have done, and we all know it. They need to fix it.
I wonder if we ask BAE really really nicely if they’ll supply us with a 3D model of the Challenger 2 Trunnion
I promise I wont send it to the Russian Developed silly tank game
Thinking about it if they did lower the whole gun and breech back to what it was before the rework, would that mean they’ed have to make the rotor taller, because wouldn’t there be a gap where it meets the roof?
For improving the protection of T-80/90 mantlets, of course.

If only Brits decided to make their own version of Kontakt-5
