Aye, what I meant was that in the context of the crew interview, open trenches were the kind of positions that Ukraine was finding it needing tanks to assault. So Challenger’s utility with a HESH round designed to hit fortifications, was limited in that assault role compared to Leopards, Abrams and T-64/72/80s.
There were live reports from Russian Telegrams that the structures at the Sudzha border guard station were being hit with direct fire from tanks. But even though we know CR2s crossed through in to Kursk, there’s nothing implicit that that shows CR2s were the platform being used for that engagement.
Ah, ty for the clarification, yeah i have been seeing a Lot of use with HESH for búnker busting quite a Lot there
Smoothbore APHE when? Or at least SAPHE.
Aren’t British two-pounders smoothbore?
Nah, the 2pdr is rifled. I don’t have a picture of, but by the documentation it’s got 12 grooves with a right hand twist. You can occasionally see the rifling drawn on diagrams of the little john adapter.
then why the hell are they so crooked?
What? I have no idea what you mean.
low accuracy
I Think you’re just silly.
How does bro know the exact groove number and number of twists off the top of his head …
He lives and breaths that information.
Pfft, nah I’m dumb as rocks, I just know where to look and that sort of thing lmao
Then do you know anything about the 13.5", 15", and 18" naval guns.
Stealing my thunder…
Please sir, do give me more info on extremely large fictional guns that I wish to mount on a ship (20 inch my beloved)
Knowing where to look is more than half the battle.
So, how is everyone feeling about 2nd Cr2 destroyed by enemy fire?
Unfortunately not.
