Challenger 2 MBT - Technical data and Discussion (Part 1)

I’ve not been taking part in active discussion in a long time, so I’m not really sure what the status is - Have we figured out using unofficial sources what the changes to the Challenger 2 likely will be once implemented? I checked the OP but it doesn’t look like it’s been updated in a while.

Are you talking about the official post about CR2 changes?

Judging from what’s been said by Gaijin, CR2 is currently as good as it’s ever going to be in-game

The changes to Cr2 are already implemented per Gaijin. Ammunition storage got moved a little, and Turret armour got reworked (to worse)

Blowout panels are designed foremost to vent fire and hot gas from the burning propellant and do virtually nothing against exploding HE and HEAT shells. The Leo looks like it does because the ammo completely exploded instead of just a propellant fire.

its actually probably worse then its ever gonna get considering the reword was more of a nerf then a buff, so we can assume gaijin wont make any effort to buff a struggling tank

can we get a revert all the changes. We didn’t get what we asked for and what did it bring other than despair.

We found out the hard way what it means to stoke and poke the all consuming void that is the ticket forums. Next time one of those prototype Russian veichles gets added we should submit that the stalinum in the tracks allows the tank to ignore up to 99% of friction.

Gajin in a nutshell: Made a poem
The Tyrant has a falcon grip on all who dare oppose him, for it is his right to bar and seal all who challenge him. He believes in all that his advisors spill, for he himself has sheldon seen the despair of his people.

All faceless… All traitors… All consuming… Yet when the tyrant has his fears founded he snaps in a violent rage. As stated before, he who only hears the word of his advisors, he will always be looking out of a small window with trees, flowers and and plump fields. Yet on the otherside there is growing conflict a brew of anger…

A chosen will step forth and guide his flock to the green patchers that the Tyrant holds dear. He will retaliate with all his might and power yet he might only be mortal… Yet he lives through his Tyranny.

blowout pannels do work what does not work is hull ammo that’s why they have resorted to ammunition like DM63 DM53A1 and DM73 wich are insensitive, the CR3 should be equipped with DM73

Challenger 3 will be using non-explosive ammunition

In theory it should make it impossible for the tank to “turret toss”, however I believe the ammo can still slowly burn out in the tank.

It’s clear that Challenger 2 has some pretty severe ammo storage issues, and I’m glad its being solved in Challenger 3

fortunately DM73 burns much less than DM63 at the point that even if burning it wont spread around to other ammo unlike DM63 wich had chances to spread around

That cheek is Leo 2A6, the image is also from the bridgate own the 2A6, not the 82 who operated Chally 2.

The main armored unit on current state is the 82th

Recently there is an image of the corpse of Chally 2 litrerally blow up but i will take it with a grain of salt since we only know the barrel is not froim Leopard or T series,

Just… no.

My guy, get your eyes tested. If you cannot recognise the breach area of the CR2 from that photo there is no helping you.
