Im probably one of the few WT forum users that are not very fond of leaking classified docs and dealing with government
that’s not going to achieve 700mm of pen, not sure exactly what Gaijin is using but DM53 (from L44) manages 720mm (360@60) it with a core length of well over 700mm.
Based on the report that flame made, i guess it can
it might squeeze 700mm including the windshield and Frustrum but they aren’t included in how Gaijin applies penetration stats
This is due to the faster muzzle velocity of the L30 cannon. Currently, the game uses the muzzle velocity of the old L11 cannon due to lack of data.
To change this, we need data on the actual muzzle velocity of L30.
Also, that data is not 0° penetration. The report incorrectly reported 700mm as 0° penetration, but it is actually 60° penetration. (326*2=652)

Last I checked the “old” muzzle velocity for L11 was sub-1600m/s going by the difference between CR1 and CR2 CHARM 1s.
For CHARM 3 to perforate 700mm LoS (assuming that it’s the performance at the muzzle) it would have to achieve 1815m/s muzzle velocity, but if it’s the performance at 2km’s (who would ever believe that?) then the velocity at the muzzle would exceed well over 1850m/s.
I also want to bring attention to the fact the document used in the report mentions RHA equivalent, meaning it’s not 700mm of penetration into an RHA target, but a complex armour target that offers similar protection to a 700mm RHA plate - problem with that is RHAe =/= RHA, DM53 was made to perforate complex armours equivalent to 1000mm RHA, but it will never defeat that much steel.

@Smin1080p @Gunjob Any news for a potential Challenger 2 rework this update? Correction of ERA and armor values, mobility, ammo rack positions, anything like that?
You will be able to find a cure for cancer and treasure at the end of the rainbow before that happens.
