Sadly there isn’t much evidence for it, Chieftain had an anti noise liner
i mean we have one book source for challenger 1 we just need another one
that’s more a testament to the skills of the crew using the tank, your tank can be shit or the best in the world if you have a good crew they will do stuff like that.
the challenger 1 was probably the second worse tank on the battle field only because the enemy was using T-55s and T-62 (if I remember correctly) which really isn’t saying a whole lot
thats why the russians assed the chally 1 to be more dangerous than the m1 during op granby
Let’s hope those tankograd books arrive soon XD
Nice now I’m regretting not getting Chally 2 also XD
And longest tank kill
I thought the Burlington/Chobham armor project always had spall liners incorporated into their design?
Yea, sadly we either have a written source stating so or photos. I dont think we have either
WO 194-1323 – Feasibility study on burlington chieftain – Tank and AFV News found something interesting, it might have something
This is probably for what then became the Chieftain 900
Manual had references to the anti frag liner.
Mmm, I might take a look later
Already resubmitted reports for CR1 and Chieftain (5/10/Khalid). With the manual references.
I also found references today to a “predecessor” to the chieftain wich was a design proposal in the 50s which already had a spall liner in mind
What in the tea cup! Wher did you gat a British USH?
Eh chieftain? Didn’t we show that it wasn’t.
i belive only the devs claimed that its a thermal layer
arrives on friday
