And the weight for chally mk1 went up 2.5 tonnes to mk2. And a tog box doesnt weight 2.5 tonnes. So in early production there is a slim chance it isnt there. And no possible reason it couldnt be there on a mk2. Because i do know for a fact the shoulder thickness changed across the front glacis. It became level w the front composite.
I still dont understand you defending something so comically obvious. You are literally defending an assumption that you cant see mounting points that youd expect to see, from some grainy ass 1980s photos. You literally want to just stand out dude.
We also know by weight, the chobham in the turret weighs 5500kg, while the chobham in the hull only weighs 1400kg. A huge difference in weight and therefore volume…
The turret also has the heavy backing plates behind the nera. And the hull composite doesnt, and the shoulder composite is JUST nera. So the weight would not be substantial.
My point is you cant assume how much the shoulder armor weighs to attribute to the frontal nera mass simply because you dont know. If youre saying that the front nera alone is 1500kg and the shoulders are empty, and all of this is solely based on assumption, how much do you expect the shoulder nera to weight if it actually was there like youre trying to disprove.
The game is not capable of linking the type of projectile and its visual model on the X-ray, if there is a HESH projectile in the ammunition, then for any projectile in the ammunition it will be considered that it is a HESH projectile, and therefore it will be fired and detonated when it is damaged.
I fail to see where is says the shoulders are spaced armour rather than composite? In fact that quote doesn’t mention the CR1 armour scheme at all, apart from the hull floor pm the CR2 being one piece instead of two bits welded together like with the CR1
Could we use the clip at 9 minutes to show that there should be a reduced ammo detonation chance? If the T72/80 gets it for “wet stowage” in a completely dry carousel then surely this would be enough?
Community Bug Reporting System Ummmm yes the game can differentiate ammo types in the fighting compartment and has been able to for quite a while. @Gunjob is this something you could overturn?
I found a document about upgrading the Challenger 1 in the National Archives. It gives some interesting protection figures, particularly for the “lower glacis”.
