Can any British main in here (actually) prove beyond any doubt that CR 3 TD has been equipped with a more powerful engine than CR2s?

No, and at least those of us who sit a little deeper in Cr2 wont ( i hope so). LEP always had 6A.

Right, so what’s the fuss about? Nobody can prove that the 1500hp rating was correct then, and it can’t be proven now either. To me it seems like people are in arms simply because Chally 3 has been nerfed (with good reasons) regardless of whether it’s historical or not.
This is for the future. However, as of today there isn’t a single reason to think it will do so - especially considering the MP stated Challenger 3 will be using the same engine as the existing Challenger 2s, and those vehicles’ engines haven’t been uprated.
Take the 2A7V, remove all the armour, turret spall liner and nerf its mobility. Is it still 11.7 worthy?

People are in arms for 2 thing. 1 it was over nerfed, as it is 1200 instead of 1217. 2 it was nerfed based on the statement concerning production variant. It would be just like nerfing for example Ariete (P) based on Ariete thing.

Point 1, i can understand. Point 2 however, I can’t. Rheinmetall when offering the TD never stated it would receive a new or for that matter, an uprated engine (which can be seen when looking at the DSEI 2021 information table they had there, and nowhere did it mention any engine upgrades that were relevant to the horsepower output).

That is why. Our 11.7 top tier tank is barely good enough to be 11.0
Challenger 3TD is the planned version. Challenger 3 was planned to have an upgraded engine. That never happened. They nerfed the CHallenger 3TD based upon what is planned for the Production variant of the Challenger 3. But refuse to give it spall liner because that was only planned for the Proudction variant

Yes? But he hasn’t answered my original question, nor does his comparison even make sense. Leopard 2A7V looks as it does because that is how it is in real life. There’s clear cut evidence for all of its modules.
There isn’t evidence for Challenger 3 TDs 1500hp engine - it was, from the very beginning, completely boogus, and noone could prove otherwise back them, or now.
First thing, it is based on 2019 LEP, not that 2021 (while 2021 is the development of 2019 still i want to be precise here)
And the main thing. Yes, they never did. But thats not the point here. The thing is that they rejected when we originally went with, wait, it is supposed to have 6A, but now they are changing it based on the prodution variant. If they went yea we are changing it to 6A it would be fine, but they are changing it based on the statement talking about the production variant. It would be like them going and for example giving Ho-Ri prototype armour based on the Ho-Ri production. That is the thing we are mad about.

Well now this is an explanation I was looking for, thanks. Altho I’m not sure if there ever was a “Ho-Ri production” (bit tipsy so my memory and capability to use tenses is a bit impaired, feel free to correct the latter if you see it fit :p).

So someone would go and say in that hypothetical situation, for example a year before Ho-Ri enter production, that Ho-Ri will have 75mm side, and they would go and change that in Ho-Ri prototype.
Not a nice situation, huh? Opens a big can of worms.

Ohh, I was thinking of the actual actual production Ho-Ri. IIRC the current in-game ones (both prototype and production) were both completely fanmade by MaiWaffentrager.
