Because it’s a PvP game where it should be fair in an asymmetric way. A Mustang Mk Ia has a fair and legitimate way to compete with zeros, bf109s and yaks. A chieftain can’t do anything about a skyraider, an abrams can’t do anything about a flanker.
Custom battles, mission editor and test flight exist as a complete brain-off gameplay option.

In my mustang Mk Ia, I don’t have to rely on anyone but myself to deal with anything on the enemy team. If I lose, it’s skill issue.Teamwork helps massively, but it’s not a requirement.
In my tanks (except for low-tier rooftop 50 cal tanks facing fighters flying ~300 km/h under 500 meters with 250 kg bombs), I have zero counterplay regardless of skill differences.

That’s what TANK ONLY fans do. They tell you how cas is easy to play, how helicopters are op, when they themselves have 0 battles with those things.

I use low tier examples because I’m confident in my claims that any fighter plane (and even bombers and attackers. Tailgunners stronk in sim) can reasonably put up a fair, but assymetric fight to any other fighter plane on the enemy team within a 1.0 BR spread between 3.0-5.7. I don’t play jets enough to use examples from there - guns are more my thing
Tanks however, outside of that very niche example (enemies are flying fragile planes made of canvas, wood or light metal at very low and very slow energy states with weaponry that requires them to get close while you have SPAA-lite capability in form of a rooftop MG that was historically used to spook stukas away), you can’t say the same about GRB. Whether it’s a comet versus F4U-4B, a conqueror against P51H, chieftains against skyraiders or abrams against flankers… there’s zero universe outside of literal trolling by the enemy pilot where you can out-skill and outplay the enemy. By trolling I mean “fly straight into the tank and suicide into it while getting hit by a stray fifty cal.”
i can hop onto ka-50 and go play 11.3. kill a few people, spawn the heli, and with a tiny bit of luck there isnt any competent SPAA to counter me, so i simply pick off kills until eventually someone decides to try to kill me.
its completely braindead, skilless and unfair. i see people having fun in a ground fight, then i come in, and bomb every single one of them. no matter where they decide to hide, ill just sit there and eat kills.
youre spewing shit and nobody here cares about your poor trolling, you can give it up and resume the search for a hobby

I have played dozens of battles against them, that’s how i know. You don’t need to play it to understand how good it plays, you just need to play against.

I do it when i indeed want to play brain off, but to be fair i could live without it. It’s not even funny, because you don’t have the satisfaction of beating someone fair and square like after a 3 minutes battleship struggle or a fox 3 joust.
You just spam the fire button 6 times and wait for a quick adrenaline rush each time the yellow notification appears on the bottom right of the screen. That’s all. No counter play, no depth to it, just click and wait.

I hadn’t got any top tier jets but I’ve got Pe-8 and Lancaster, are they equally brain-dead? Or even more brain-dead to get free kills?
