CAS problem

F-15’s wiped MiG-29 and MiG-25’s, Iranian F-14’s cleared MiG-23 of similar timeframe as well as Mirages, F-16 downed tons of planes, and F-4’s were fighting MiG’s into the 80’s

Begging for a truce? They were so, so lucky they didn’t get nuked into oblivion (US had hundreds of nukes USSR only 20). Politics and total lack of public support thankfully got US soldiers out of Vietnam where military was winning a lot, same thing happened in Afghanistan where military was capable but politics stopped it. Idk what your going on about with the Somalian coast guard and other stuff but most of the time any issue is because US has to follow ROE and enemies do not.

It’s also convenient how you gloss over Iraq 1991 where mostly US wiped one of the largest armed forces in the world

It really wasn’t that bad as the war progressed, the F-4’s got better at dealing with MiG and anyways most of the time even F-4’s that were doing escort carried bombs because they could run mixed a2a and a2g loads

F-4E shouldn’t have to suffer against IRIS-T SLM though

Yeah, they took out Iraqi forces with help from the rest of the world. America by themselves cannot defeat a second world nation with farmers as soldiers (Vietnam).

nearly 700,000 of the 970,000 troops in ODS were US, the aircraft and tanks and ground vehicles were overwhelmingly US

Vietnam wasnt even a solo war and like I said, militarily it was a lot of wins but it failed politically. I think your either just really dumb or ragebaiting

Didn’t the US also sink most of the nations navy in like 9 hours by themselves?

They would be dodgin whatever long range SAM there were at the time (and afterwards)

The small problem with the “era” argument is that SPAAs are ordered in BR by range mostly. Most manpads are also far more modern that 50s jets for example

However if we go by that “era” argument, then most long range SAMs from the 50s and 60s are also missing, and i don’t think planes would fare better

That being said, decompression should indeed come, IRIS-T SLM has no business being at the same BR as a Elde, Tan SAM or ITO

aka play SPAA every single game without exception, because your teammates wont

move 2 cm and get sniped across the map ?

pantsir is famously good at capping points and being stealthy, and has great gun depression which lets it shoot out barrels easily

for sure

at the distance in your screenshot, even slight movements are gonna make the rocket miss.
you can kill a guy at 20km, but only if lead mode decides to work and the plane flies straight towards you.
your lock will be gone if he launches anything, even dumb missiles, this is bad even at close range.
and lead mode often misses easy shots on TWS, more than it did before.

The answer that CAS main don’t like to hear because they keep saying that Pantsir can hit them from 20 km distance.

Seeing so many responses, I would like to say that if we could lower the spawn points required for air superiority aircraft in GRB and increase interactions between aircraft, wouldn’t that indirectly protect ground teammates? Why must we focus on arguing over who eliminates whom?

no

because its the only issue that matters, and why people want a ground only gamemode

My apologies, but why not? Could you please share your reasoning? I would like to hear your reasoning rather than just a “no.” War Thunder originally started with air combat modes, so if someone only wants to play tank-versus-tank battles, I would sincerely suggest trying World of Tanks instead.

I wonder too

What ur saying was valid before the update
And u arent switching lock so easily if u are on the radar screen
And it works even better at short distnace
Game or 2 later i shot down ef2k and f16 around 2-4km with the lead mode
Its sometimes over lead but still pretty relaible

An aircraft is a net negative for the team that has it spawned.
I’ve had at least hundreds matches that my teams have lost due to spawning too many aircraft.

I agree with your viewpoint, but this is exactly a point used for balancing. If everyone spawns in air superiority aircraft, the ground would be easily conceded to the opposing side. Additionally, it’s worth noting that some aircraft are equipped with large-caliber cannons, and these aircraft could have their spawn points balanced individually to ensure that early aircraft spawns don’t lead to ground units being attacked.

making CAS easier to get wont make it less prevalent, it will only result in ground players getting pummeled as hard as ever

WoT is nothing like war thunder

radar screen doesnt change how the radar works, it still loses lock all the time

Techincly u right but somehow i found that its harder for ppl to break lock when u are in the radar screen maybe its some kind of a bug

WoT is arcade.

Warthunder offers Realistic and Simulator game modes.

I wish Simulator was more playable and not cursed by “If you want to play a Firefly or Tiger E, wait 4 days” kind of lineup system.

As such, I’m stuck with realistic.

As you said, Warthunder has air modes. If I want to fly planes, I’ll go fly them in ASB not GRB.

I don’t want to fly planes in GRB because GRB is awful for fighter combat (tiny 8x8 km bowl of a map where airfield AAA will destroy your plane if you get a little out of the arena at the wrong position; air spawns that have planes phase into reality while you’re dogfighting, 25 minute matches that interrupt lengthy jockeying and duels, rapid ticket bleed that interrupt lengthy jockeying and duels, mouse aim that makes some of my favourite planes feel like boats due to instructor limits and is just less inherent/intrinsic fun to use.)
