CAS problem

its a Vietnam era jet it should be fighting alongside M60A1’s not trying to dodge IRIS-T SLM

Unfortunately this game does not balance by year they came out. Also, apparently the F-4 Phantoms were used as target practice around the same time the IRIS-T was created. Theoretically, you can say that the F-4s dying to IRIS-Ts are just training exercises.

they dont put pilots in QF-4’s, thats the entire point

year is irrelevant, such an old aircraft should not be fighting modern air defence, its like putting a F4F wildcat against Gepard 1A2

They’re Jewish pilots, the IRIS-T was promised to them 3,000 years ago.

Gaijin doesn’t see it that way. They balance things based on skill, so basically just start crashing that plane until you single handily bring about a BR change due to the ungodly amount of RP and SL you drain.

they just added the SLM so hopefully they will decompress so stuff like F-4E doesnt have to suffer

Decompression? Balance? In War Thunder?

It’s still the best spot for CAS v.s SPAA balance
Above that is far less balanced.

Fixed it

If you actually do that the data gets thrown out.
CL13’s incident had Gaijin change the impact of mass data.

Also if this game balanced by year, Soviets would be OP for most BRs.

CAS haters continue their streak of copying what som1 else said, and saying it dumber.

I’m not a CAS hater, just an advocate for balance. Tanks Only mode provides said balance.
Also, I do not believe anyone here could be more stupid than your points. CAS has all the power, and the only time there is balance in the game is around 8.0-10.0

Eh, to a point. But yeah, USSR had superior fighters (MiG 15s, MiG 21s, etc.), America just invested into speed and hurling missiles. Quite fascinating, but it’s the reason why I hate playing America. I like being able to turn, not boom and zoom until I’m 14.0

If you want turn/energy fighters in America: F-100D, F-8U/E, F-5E, F-18A/C, F-14s, F-16s to name the most notable ones for me.

As for this topic, the new SPAA has made CAS even more rare for my matches.

When F-4’s weren’t loaded up with bombs they did pretty well in Vietnam

F-8 were excellent dogfighters and F-4’s weren’t that bad when not loaded up, the F-4E with agile eagle is pretty good

F-100D: with a 40 second turn time is not a turn fighter. I’ll stick to MiGs and Mirages, thank you.
F-8: haven’t gone down the naval line beyond the props.
F-5: I’ll go with the Thai one. Still decent.
F-18: nope. I got the Swedish one and regret it.
F-14: I don’t get how people think it’s a great turn fighter. I have a few American main friends, and I bully the F-14 with MiGs and Grippens.
F-16: I’ll give you that one.

As I said, I prefer the MiGs, Mirages, and Grippens: actual proper fighters.

F-100D wasnt awful the way I remember it, please don’t talk about “proper” fighters when most US fighters have IRL KDR dozens of times better than your MiG’s and Mirages and Gripens

When it was facing mig 21’s. It could sometimes win in a downward spiral. Other then that it’d get killed 9/10 times. I’d say its like the f1c vs an f14 type of situation.

I used the F-100 recently. I so enjoy the 9L spam, the constant R-3Rs from that premium MiG 21, and having all my bases stolen by F-104s.

Also, the only reason they have higher KD ratios is because America bullies weaker nations that cannot get access to modern fighters. I mean, so impressive, your F-15 that is fresh off the production line just sniped a MiG 21 that has been sitting and collecting dust (and sand) since 1968! Well done! Let’s see how well America will do against the likes of Russia and China. Oh wait, they refuse to fight. I mean, their recent war record kinda proves they cannot fight (begged for a truce in Korea, lost Vietnam, lost Afghanistan, lost in Cambodia, lost in Laos, barely able to fight the Somalian coast guard). But hey, maybe one day the US will actually fight someone that isn’t at least a century behind.
