CAS problem

I’ve been evil before and done similar. I love the Rhodesian roundel (it’s why I got into Britain), and when I realised it could go on anything, I may throw it on stuff and fly at the enemy. “Ah, it’s a Wallet Warrior with a British BF-109… WAIT, it’s a BF-109 PRETENDING to be a British BF-109!”

But yeah, I could tell it was a Japanese plane because of the green colour, but I can imagine how terrifying that would have been. I’ve done the same in Realistic, where I mix up the names for certain planes, believing it to be a strike aircraft, just to then suffer the wrath of a fighter. Yeah, not a fan of Germany naming their stuff Do and Me and expecting slow bombers. Or the Vautour bomber being a fighter.

I believe this is your personal perspective, and I respect it. However, many players enjoy both ground and air vehicles. As for their numbers, perhaps a poll could be conducted to gather statistics.

Important to note that even those who do like planes and tanks equally, or indeed may like planes more than tanks - can still prefer tank only mode for when they want their share of ground gameplay.

It’s not only about opinion, it’s simply math. In ground battles, players use ground vehicles due to the necessity of first spawn, so grinding air tree takes essentially forever, and cannot follow ground tree research unless the player plays ARB along GRB.

like this one ? Revised poll on CAS in Ground Battles, would you play a tank only mode?

I just conducted a poll as well, but it was missing some content, which is also my viewpoint: if players could use a small number of spawn points to deploy aircraft to counter CAS, I personally believe the vast majority would do so.
Addition: Based on a poll from 2023, I believe it cannot accurately reflect the current situation (at least regarding SPAA, as no one would consider the IRIST-SLM to be weak, right?).

I believe this is not a mathematical issue but rather a compromise made to ensure game duration. If we could earn a lot of experience per match and quickly unlock desired vehicles (for example, if air vehicles could contribute to researching ground vehicles, as it’s well-known that air vehicles are researched much faster than ground ones), this could maintain a relative balance between CAS and ground forces. Isn’t the biggest point of contention currently the frustration caused by being unilaterally attacked by CAS?
Addition: Based on the example above, if air vehicles could contribute to researching ground vehicles, and if players could use air vehicles for air defense and to counter CAS at the start of GRB, I believe, as a player with air vehicles, they would be happy to do so.

It would be a compromise if air and ground were implemented at the same time. But they were not. Air RB was added before ground vehicles were added. I played a lot of air RB and got through half of the air trees available at that time while playing air RB. If I were to start now, I would not use planes at all, as it is essentially impossible to research them while playing ground RB without playing air RB. And the air RB now is much worse than it was when the game started.

It seems pretty accurate to me, and regardless of how old it is that thread has been seeing activity recently so it’s been present and available to most people to vote on still and regardless of how old a thread is opinions on this rarely change. People want the choice either from being fed up of being revenge bombed from some dude you just killed in his ww2 tank, to being deleted by modern missiles from orbit personally there’s nothing that changes my opinion on aircraft in a ground mode i don’t play ground to play air if i did i would play air modes.

When they think they can be sneaky and toss a 1000lbs bomb at me from 1000m up high. Getting better at shooting bombs the more I practice.

Spoiler

Why the actual fuck is it so easy to spawn in cas with bomb and big bombs in low tier it should be like 900 sp since the AA are useless when they get bombed from the stratosphere with a 4000lb bomb

Literally skill issue. WW2 SPAA is ridiculously easy to play.

half true: It is a skill issue, however, it is not easy. I didn’t learn to use SPAA in a day, takes a lot of time and practice. Using WW2 SPAA require a lot more skill than you think.

Any SPAA with an decently fast firing autocannon (pretty much anything above 120 rpm) can easily be done well in by any1 with basic positioning and target lead skills.

The reason CAS is so powerful I’d cause everyone who plays SPAA just sits in spawn firing at targets well outside their range. It’s always frustrating when I try to bait CAS to come closer by shooting in some random direction away from it, only for my teammate to fire at him and ruin it.

Then why is your record at shooting down planes with spaa mediocre at best?
If it’s so easy and anyone can do it, why are you not more successful?
Or are you not adhering to your own “positioning” advice?

Was about to ask him that same question to him lol Though im sure its because he uses them to fight tanks instead of doing the job it was mainly designed to do.

It’s for the same reason that most of my SPAA kills are against tanks.

because its only true wen you are in a plane?

Because there’s more ground targets than air targets, and also CAS doesnt really effect the match a whole lot.
