Just inverted Turboprop engine.
Instead of Jet engine running propeler blades, Motojet is an inline engine running compressor of Jet engine( it have advantage over standard that it lack turbine which have a tendency to explode)

This is such a cool plane and would be a perfect addition to fill the gap between the 6.3 props and 8.0 jets. It’s also really unique because i don’t think there are any other planes in war thunder to utilize both prop and jet at the same time (though someone might correct me on that).

There could be similar aircraft mig-13(I-250) but this had worse design by using power from main engine to run compressor

The power output for the engine is split between a propeller and a turbine with each creating paracitic resistance depending on the speed the plane is going, meaning you effectively get the worst of both worlds as opposed to the best of both worlds. I think that the italians’ decision of having a seperate engine for the turbine gives the plane a much better way to control the thrust of each propultion technique rather than having to rely on two seperate gearboxes for the same engine.
Just a shame that the italians decided to use a biplane engine for the turbine instead of a periodicly modern engine.

I think that engine choice was more about size and how easy it will be to aquire one. There were some works around top of the line engines to be used for motojet construction(with full power). I’m currently researching other Campini’s projects where he experimented with DB601 and 605 as compressor power source

I think this and maybe also the campini caproni n1 can be a interesting way to import in the game ww2 italian’s jets, honestlyfor the second one idk if in the original peoject there was already the dislocations of the weapons, also because was only a prototype
