id like to start off by saying the map “middle east” was an april fool map if that says anything

its been the same 3 cap or 1 cap game modes that funnel players into a fast paced metal grinder and at high BRs we all know armor mostly means nothing especially against APDSFS and always being within 1km or less just makes it a turkey shoot see first shoot first kill first positioning and strategy skill etc lol it means nothing

way bigger maps objectives to destroy more players and cap points to hold add in AI AAA and AT positions and you have a experience and more engaging gameplay

currently its just monotonous as he11 and just focusing on the symptoms just ruins the game such just focusing on CAS

in 2015/16 the game was a helluva lot better armor meant something so the small maps were appropriate

thats actually why CAS was a big thing you had unstoppable maus t54 1947-51 is3 m103 tanks that had to be outplayed and flanked or bombed back to the hanger those were the top dogs

A lot of people also don’t like it and that is the issue, also we have it whether we like it or not and it may transpire that the majority don’t actually like it.

i am happy that the grind is less grindy now though and top tier doesnt eat your SL like it used to

Quick question for you because I don’t have the patience to sift through this post looking for the answer. What is your stance on the CAS issue? If you are against CAS, What exactly are you against, the planes themselves or the ordnance they carry? I am trying to gather thoughts and ideas from people and have meaningful discussion so I can ultimately fine tune my new implementation idea.

So if you are not having fun getting 12 kills in a game why the hell are you playing?
Do you get immense joy having your arse shot from under you and going out with no kills and two lives lost?

them popping out about 100ms out of spawn to get slumped by me while im on my objective area isnt fun i dont get off on dopamine hits like that i had no choice but to shoot them

also im tryna get certain tanks so i can go back to those immense maps in custom battles again i have no choice but to grind or pay to do so therefore not really fun

The bearing is irrelevant as it’s location based, so it’s very generic direction which is just their spawn anyways.

I’m not against planes or ordinance they carry, that is where people still misunderstand what I’m talking about.

I’m against the unbalance between ground and air, that is caused by the vechicles characteristics. You can’t balance the air fighting the ground, as air will always have the upper hand.

SPAA? Air user can not engange it and choose a target that is outside of SPAA effective range (there are some exceptions at higher B.Rs, but then we have planes that can take out SPAAs outside of their effective range).

MGs on tanks? Well, they have limited angle so You are going to get killed if an air player just uses his brain.

Team? Well, guess what, You were paired with people who just want to play tanks and they have right for it as there is no dedicated mode for that in game.

So ye, the only way that combined gamemode can get balanced is thru adding a place for pure tankers.

So, I do not want to start an argument with you over this, I’m just after your thoughts on the matter.

If an F-8F (.50 cal), for example, was in a Ground RB game without carrying any ordnance (guns only), would you consider that plane to be “overpowered” or “unbalanced”? Would you say the same for the F-8F with the 20mm cannons?

My reasoning behind this specific line of questioning is trying to assertain what combination of airframe and weapon becomes “too much” for ground vehicles to handle and where that line sits.

Of course it is unbalanced as clean fighters can still destroy many ground units with ease as they can’t really defend themself against them.

What would You do to this clean fighters if You were in open-top or lightly armored tank? Especially if they were attacking from an angle that Your mounted MG can’t shoot at? If You can’t answear this question, then You know that it is unbalanced.

So with .50 caliber machine guns, only SPAA and some light vehicles are in any real danger while some light vehicles, mediums, heavies, and most tank destroyers are immune. That is still too much of an unbalance for you?

20mm can go thru panthers and tigers

12.7mm can go thru all Pz IV, T-34 etc

The original OP was about the low amount of SP that it can take to get a plane into the game. My issue is that with some line ups and some maps combined the old trick of trying to capture a point and get a plane is the only option, best option or chosen option so why should others have an issue with that? Its an option that many players are not even aware of.

Nerfing CAS is like censorship and keeping the current formula is going to lead to a GRB that is no fun for CAS or Tanks. A separate game with freedom for both is the only way .

It’s an irony that the pro CAS brigade who want things to continue as they are, are actually overseeing a GRB combined arms game where CAS gets nerfed more and more until its either no fun or all but useless.

But hey, as long as we all serve that " Combined Arms God " who cares about the fun element?
