That’s what the crew lock was implemented for, and… It should be changed to handle the ODLs and rectify them as well.
The only way to rectify it is to make staying in a match worthwhile and enjoyable.
You demand harsher and harsher punishments.
That is only going to reduce player numbers but it will never fix ODL
I have prem time so repair costs literally mean nothing to me. But I still don’t spawn multiple times in matches with unbalanced matchmaking where one team is spawn-raping within 5 minutes.
If GJN wants people to stay in matches, maybe they should focus on keeping matches fun rather than trying to guilt trip them into staying.
That’s just more excuses to be real… You aren’t psychic,. you don’t know how the match will play out and to have people think they are within 5 minutes of match start, there’s a problem.
Excuses to be real? I assure you, I’m not Pinocchio, I am in fact a real boy.
What on earth are you talking about? I don’t need to predict anything - I can see on the minimap where my team are dying. If they are already dying around the spawn points and I’ve good reason to believe we are getting steamrolled off the map, I just won’t bother spawning in again. It isn’t rocket science.
With minimal situational awareness you should have a rough idea of how the match is going and whether or not one team is getting rolled. If you aren’t able to tell that then you’re not in a position to comment, never mind throw around baseless, dogshit suggestions like expanding the crew lock mechanics.
Not if I just buy a premium, and even if I did, why would I spawn it when the game makes it better to not spawn it
It doesn’t matter how it DOES handle disconnects. I said it “CAN” treat the vehicle as destroyed.
“CAN” =/= “does”
If that was an issue, all they needed to do was change 2 lines of code to say “on timeout of over X seconds, destroy the vehicle” the end. Nothing about crew lock necessary. Using crew lock instead is a dumb response that has way more side effects than the obvious solution does for no reason, if that was the intent.
Instead you sock players with repair costs for what might not be their fault? Great idea. You should work for Gaijin.
Facepalm It’s COMPUTER CODE, it can do literally whatever you want.
Fine, then, “Treat the vehicle as destroyed + also credit the player’s account with exactly the repair cost” whatever. Still zero need for crew lock with other side effects
Although yes, I do happen to think they should pay repair costs, otherwise you can just shut off your internet whenever you were about to die
