Can we get rid of kill cam finally?

Again we as a forum come to a sensible solution that will probably never be seen by Gaijin.

That’s a terrible “solution”. People would be complaining immediately… “why won’t it let me requeue”. Also in a 16v16 you can have 100 deaths. You’d never know which was yours and you’d never learn anything.

Nothing wrong with killcam. It balances excessive map knowledge to help new players in a ten-year old game, and encourages players not to spend the entire game sniping from behind one spot of perfect cover, making the game more fluid and mobile for everyone. Developers have said that’s why they have it, and any solution would have to have something to produce the same effect. As others have said, Sim Ground is always there if you don’t like it.

What? No. You can make it skippable. You know that’s the case already with the kill cam, right? You can press esc and skip it.

Again, what? No, you would only see your own deaths, like you already do.

Nothing would change to the actual composition of the kill cam, just when it’s shown to you.

maybe you could read the older posts before jumping in

While I agree that it helps new players learn (which is why I don’t want it eliminated) I think you underestimate that map knowledge gives you an advantage in interpreting the kill cam as well.

When you’ve played every square inch of every map half a thousand times, you have the visual memory and pattern recognition to almost always instantly recognise what location the kill cam is showing you, and you might even already be thinking about how far it is in metres from the first viable firing position you can reach after respawning (in ground, I’m ignoring revenge bombing for a second here). Obviously a new player would not have so much match-useful knowledge from the same kill cam.

Basically the kill cam should imho be a learning tool but I would rather it didn’t give us an “artificial” advantage inside the same match, which we don’t really need. An experienced player doesn’t need a reward for dying.

When you are down to grammar you know you are finished and have no point to make.Would that be American grammar? The only kind for the whole world?

I almost got a stroke reading that dude’s comment.

It’s interesting we have killcam showing the physics of a kill and yet when I get hit from the front the damage is showing from the side or the back making it hard to tell where your enemy is.Damage physics seems way out.

I think that’s more down to server/client issues than anything else tbh, at least in most cases

I suppose it’s possible you are being hit by more than one person as well.

No.
How else do I know where to revengebomb?

It also encourages players to act like headless chickens because they will be blessed with the exact position of the killer, no matter what they do.
Nothing more than a cheap crutch and making players feel better by giving them a reward for dying.

Ah the Hitlers deciding how we must all play the game.

The only actual reason for keeping the killcam aside from skill issues is spotting cheaters.

I’ve successfully identified and gotten a dozen or more cheaters banned thanks to something seeming off from where I died respective to the enemy.

That’s actually a very good point.

You could check kill cams after the game, results will be the same. If something seems off, you can get even a better look by using the server replay.

I suspect most of those who bitch about it keep it on and use it to revenge kill themselves. Then they brag about how they get ten kills a game and everybody else has skill issues for using killcam.

Do you have any Idea of the history of Killcam? At what point it came into the game and why?
My point being,Did the game start with Kill cam? Was i added later due to player complaints and now others want it gone?

Another failed merger,sorry.

Yeah no, once I finish the game I’m off.

Killcam should stay as long as the cheating infestation is as rife as it is. I’m not loading up server replay until I get that initial gut feeling from the killcam.

Don’t have an idea, sorry.

You could get that initial gut feeling from the kill cam, but after the match, let’s say on the end results screen, where after a clicking on a button “Show my deaths” you would be met with kill cam(s) of your deaths, simple as.
