Copy pasted vehicles could work in a vehicle based matchmaker. For example Axis vs Allies and NATO vs Warsaw where before each battle you would have to pick a side and prepare your lineup accordingly. The current nation based matchmaker gets drowned in a mud flood of copy pasta and I frankly hate it. When I play American F-16 in SB and the reds have more F-16’s than my own team, I get so disgusted I just land and quit the game.
I know 100% it’s technically possible to change matchmaker rules. I specifically remember playing ARB back in the days of historical matchmaker. When I played German Mig-15BIS, it always put me on a team with Russians. I have never ever played Mig 15BIS on a team with NATO before they changed the matchmaker rules. And when I played CL-13, most of the times I was on a team with Americans and when I was not with Americans, at least I had a pure GER vs USA match or GER vs USSR match.
Such a horrible take lmao. Until very recently (2022?) most of the exported vehicles like Leopards were fine with a national skin and remained in the original TT. Easy example: go see the German Leopard 2A4 and its Finnish and Hungarian skin. This is how “subtrees” should have been handled.
INB4
But but… I am a Hungarian! I want to play original Hungarian Leopard, not a German one with a skin!!1!!1
Yeah well playing an Italian Leopard with a Hungarian skin makes much more sense, right? lmao
Same with the Gripen. It should have been only in the Swedish TT. No other nation in the game operated it, so the South African and Italian Gripen should have been just a skin. UK/ITA has no business of having a Gripen, shoehorned via SA / HU no less. I mean the Czech camo is on the South African Gripen located in the UK tech tree, talk about insanity.
The F-16 would be fine for Italy and USA to have it (Israel should have been a subtree of USA to begin with, so handled with just a skin). Perhaps the Taiwanese in China, I could see the reason. But any other F-16? France has no business of having it shoehorned via Belgium. Japan has no business having a fictional F-16… so on and so forth.
We only get the sea of copy pasta because it’s a low cost way to bloat the vehicle count and the grind, without any regards to the gameplay. Plus they are running out of vehicles to add, so the only logical reason for them is to start adding copy pasted vehicles. Once they run out of those as well, they start copy pasting entire nations. I mean they could be improving gameplay and features, instead of focusing on adding new shiny every 3 months, but this is the path they chose, unfortunately.
Unfortunately the can of worms has already been opened. The only realistical way out of this sewer is, as mentioned before, a vehicle based matchmaker.
I still cannot fathom how France, a nation with a huge amount of completely unique and interesting vehicles, needed to be bloated with redundant vehicles that may have been better off as something independent. And now it can be claimed that France has no need for more of their own vehicles due to this generous “gift”, and their own designs can be put off even longer, if they are ever added.
This is even worse than the Hungarian subtree, that did not even recieve its many unique additions, instead being the Soviet greatest hits compilation.
So where’s my Australian Abrams in the British tree? Where’s the Abrams the British trialled if Sweden simply trialling vehicles is enough? Where’s my Canadian Leopards in the British tree?
I’ve lowkey stopped avoiding lobbies with china in prop tiers. Not because of disgust though.
IFF.
It’s very annoying flying into a fight thinking your six is covered and then you learn that P-38 was an enemy, or that p-47 was an enemy, that p-51 was an enemy, that b25j was an enemy, that mosquito, that pb4 is an enemy. Sure camo might look a little different but given planes kind of lose texture from afar…
Like. Why even learn plane silhouettes at this rate, just facecheck everyone as you cannot be certain.
?
There’s like 5 copy-paste this update, and that’s counting Mirage 2000 and Tornado GR4.
Benelux air tree is half unique vehicles.
OSA is a unique vehicle.
So your only actual copy-paste is Hungary which will slowly become more unique than copy-paste.
No additions should be replaced in War Thunder, that’s anti-consumer nonsense.
You’d have to be against WT’s playerbase to post that.
Leopard 2A7V, Leopard 2A5PSO, Puma, FlaRakRad, Leopard 2PL, Leopard 2A4M, Leopard 2K…
If your post is going to have blatantly false information, at least don’t make it this easy to refute.
Mate Germany during the Cold War was West and East neither made their stuff. France never used the Leopard cause they had their tank. But did recently sign a project to work with Germany to replace the Leopards and Leclerc.
“The French and German defense ministers signed a deal for a Franco-German armaments project worth billions of euros. It includes developing a new battle tank to replace Germany’s Leopard 2 and France’s Leclerc.”
Now you are probably gonna respond with “What about all of the US SPAA prototypes that they created” Well person who possibly asked, most of them ONLY USED .50 Caliber Machine Guns. Cause it was easy to mass-produce and get to the field very quickly so it took us very little time to get them into battle and into the war.
Besides that making your pointless claims isn’t helping, 1 it costs Gaijin over 10k which is around 4 months of wages in Hungary, 2 the Skink’s engine and transmission and some other components are from US origin and produced in the United States. People wanna mention the upper chassis, guns, and turret. But completely neglect the fact that none of those mean anything if the dang on thing CANNOT MOVE!!!.
its still a completely US design, i support native australian and australian operated british designs going to UK but a vehicle like the M1A1 AIM, belongs in the US tree
