Ive been saying that for a while, not to make these nations into their own TTs but not paste them into the main TTs either. But with gaijin its very hit or miss with good or bad stuff. They either do great stuff. Or the opposite and don’t do a great job at it, But still makes it work. “Since it sounds good on paper”
We used to, now sadly we get 0, and when we do is also a copy paste vehicle, the last non-copy paste (plane) i can think of is the Fokker G.IA
Or no we cant say that because gaijin does add ww2 stuff in these sucky grindy events that half of us players have no such time to grind through
Like the J9 early among the planes, RIP Sweden low tier Air TT
Indeed, and I’d consider sub-trees one of the “sounds good on paper” things. they are one of the: “good in theory, bad in practice”
Like most thought sub-trees would limit C&P but with how all of them have been that isn’t why they exist. and well some ideas/concepts are great, mixed line-ups, shared research, etc.
And all of these systems are in-game in a way they can be used if sub-trees were made into tabs/folders. making a mixed line-up from different tabs(land, air, sea) has been in the game for years, being able to research vehicles using stuff in another tab now exists with the ground to heli research. like almost everything needed to make sub-trees good is in-game, to the point only about 10 new lines of code should be needed and about half of that would be used to back sure the systems copied from elsewhere work together.
Gaijin can C&P to its heart’s content as it no longer tanks up room where a unique vehicle could have gone for both the host and sub-tree.
I rarely count events. after all, they are like premiums not everyone can get them.
So to be events, battlepasss and premiums do not count for additions.
I mean, it’s add cool and interesting vehicles and once they are all cleared out, have no hype for the rest of the updates, or spread it would over updates, and allow more content flow.
It’s marketing, that lots of people don’t have even a simple concept of. It makes perfect sense to me, and as such, I am fine with it.
And EVEN THEN they copy paste a lot, for example the great and never seen P-51C
Spoiler
(also copy paste from american P-51C that is a copy paste from the premium P-51C on japan)
Or the Skyraider
Spoiler
Or the Bf-109 F-4

Or the latest low effort Battle Pass, He 177 A-3

Yeaa, but when you bring up the lack of ww2 additions every moderator always auto defaults to. “Try our Event and premium ww2 stuff We arent cheaping out on you at all. Just buy it or spend ludicrous hours on it!” Not exact words but its the general gist. Sure they need to make money. But i feel like they already make a decent amount with people buying their way through TTs
This is always a thing ive not understood untill recently ive started dabling in the area with starting a small business. Its a horrible thing people buy into it but hey it works. You always think of the impulsive consumers since they are the norm
eh, I don’t mind “C&P” for battlepass. better than locking unique stuff behind it.
Stuff like Churchill-crocodile or Bomber with WW2 ASM I think work perfectly as they don’t take away for the TT or future nations trees/sub-trees as they be sidegrades from stuff in-game.
It’s all about how you market it, also is nice when you don’t have to grind a separate TT for a vehicle that your main nation at least has the ability to have added when you want said vehicle.
C&P is perfectly fine, but they need to implement a system where if you already grind/spade it in 1 TT, you don’t have to in a separate one.
My thaught kinda, Vehicles like the Ikv 73 that is just a Strv 42 with another MG is fine as a event vehicle. Like, its something neat to just add into lineups. Not a thing that could be 100% unique to a TT and would take away from the regular TT if not added. Like for example the SPz 12-3 LGS that would have been a awesome TT addition
Better vehicles like the Sturmtiger To be event vehicles. They are funny more for the meme, and fun to play than actually being a needed part of the TT
Vehicles like the Swedish-Finnish Patria CT-CV 105HP would have been very needed in the TT to actually place some Finnish designs in well Finland but no we couldn’t even have THAT win.
This sentance is a 50/50 for me. And i have multiple ways it goes and how to translate it. But all im going to say is C&P is fine yes, in limited numbers. Like if it was or is in major service, Had a significant impact. Or makes it stand out rather than being just inventory or anything like that. And i totaly agree with the second part no grudges or anything
Now to respond to this, ehh. I’m not in the mood to start talking consumer psychology And how people generally think, but ill sum it up to. “People are lazy and will go for the easiest option”
I think this is unfortunately just reflective of modern military vehicles.
Most nations these days, especially talking about aircraft, do not design or make their own vehicles. Most nations import them. The average military vehicle these days is much more expensive, even relatively speaking, to how it was in WW2, and not every small manufacturer can try and design a vehicle. Sure, I would like to see some more original vehicles too - They do exist for sure - but when it comes to fleshing out the higher tier trees like Italy, Israel and Germany, we sort of need the subtrees to bring in some copy paste.
Without the Hungarian line, Italy would be a very barebones air tree,
??? There’s plenty of post WW2 vessels in all naval trees… Not in the top tier of blue water with battleships, but otherwise lots and lots of them even…
Well as for the leo tanks, they are all built by a company called Rheinmetall located in Germany. Therefore, they will be similar in nature, Dutch, Spanish, German, Greek, Micronesian, depending on the variant they will all be similar.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is another example of this, its a European project to link several defense industries across Europe and produce a fighter jet. The idea is to create continuity and standardization. Thus, we should expect a similar fighter for any Eu nation that has purchased it. Only cammo and specific internal characteristics will change. Its not Germany and Britain get a Typhoon however, Greece purchases the Eurofighter but it somehow ends up getting a J-11b.
The one thing that I also agree is that France should not be getting the Leos they dont use them. Lecrec armor can be reworked instead of bundling it with other nations. Remember the French are unique they like using super French equipment.
Which vehicle? im curious to know
No not at all, damn its hard for me to express me correctly, english is not my main language. but meh anyways, this lead no nothing i have nothing agaisnt ww2 players i enjoy these too, i just felt like i wasted my time grinding for some vehicles i wanted, back in time nations had more exclusivity, for example
You want Abrams? grind USA
You want Leopards? Grind Germany
You want a T-80/90? USSR is your choice
You want a Challenger? Grind GR!
it was simple as that, but now everything is getting mixed to a point some nations have nothing special to offer, right now im finish Germany grinding for Leo2A7 and F4 ICE because i want to finish completely my 1st nation and im on it.
But i also love some other vehicles like Etendard, A-10, F-16s, Challengers, some Sweeden vehicles and to get those i need to grind the proper nation to get these, i cant just grind an A-10 or F-16 on Germany
i need to grind alll the way up to those vehicles on USA or the nation i want you know what i mean? and some people grinded Italy maybe or France and they already have their own mbts lineup and decent air vehicles and boom now they get extra F16s and Leopards and all that and bruh.
For example with Sweeden it was different, they had their own TT with unique vehicles and they just get Leopards on top tier because its what they use on the actual time and there is no choice, and players who wants the Sweeden leopards have to grind from zero and they will have their own lineup with no mixed nations.
I know i will adapt to this with the time but its a sour taste after all the time i spent to get a vehicle it was supossed to be only on Germany.
Oh yeah, and no premium time
I understand your perspective of every nation having its unique vehicles. In the past that was also the case in Warthunder, but as time progresses and new nations and equipment gets added it is inevitable to see similar vehicles across different fractions in War thunder. It is also part of Globalization and cooperation where nations work together on projects which have similar goals. Therefore, you are seeing similar vehicles operated by different nations in the game. Look at Sweden it also has leo tanks but they are different cause the Swedes re-worked them as opposed to other Eu nations that chose a standardized approach. Gajjin is simply adding what those nations have.
One thing that gajjin should pay more attention to is detail, and reflect the minor differences in appearance of those tanks, and especially pay attention to the different upgrade packages they have. Not all nations purchase the same packages on leo tanks.
