Can the JAGM get its mmW seeker now that half the Russian munitions get its man-in-the-loop?

Its like the ground khrizantema, you can lock and guide 1 with the radar while firing a 2nd and laser guiding it

Really sucks that nato doesnt face 15 year older soviet tech anymore I guess

completely missed my point

You don’t have one. “Soviet tree overperforms, Nato tech falls behind”. Bar american air which lacks Gen 4++ aircraft to add, the rest of nato has equipment that are either less than 5 years old or from the near future

Nope, I never once mentioned weapon’s age. My point is NATO never get anything that Russian doesn’t, but Russian always gets something NATO doesn’t

They seem so hesitant to give NATO anything, but when it comes to Russian, everything gets added in its best form

Example?

Hmmm… sort of? for the Mi-28MN it’s pretty similar, for Apaches they can use the radar like TWS to fire every missile at different targets all at once.

Abrams SEPv2 doesn’t get it’s extra smoke add-ons for no reason so it was straight up a worse SEPv1 (heavier cuz u cant take off the useless ERA)

F15C GE doesn’t get BOL pod nor double aim120 rack cuz “they need to wait and see how it performs” even though it was clearly not competitive against other planes at its BR while Su30SM2 gets its proper radar, proper missile counts the moment it came out

LMUR has proper loft angle, so they clearly did not give JAGM its loft angle on purpose

JAGM doesnt get mmW cuz “locking through smoke is too OP” but now LMUR is getting MITL which is equally cracked

thats all i can think off at the top of my head

Let me play apologist for that for a second. when the USSR collapse in 1991 Russian military tech stopped evolving, they only developed new weapons for export, weapons like R-77 where never fully adopted into Russian service, once their economy recovered some 20 or so years later many of those export weapons where finally adopted into service, however they took the lessons that that those weapons had learned and addressed those short comings before entering them into service.
For example the R-77 was upgraded to the 77-1 before Russia officially adopted it.
Now that’s not to excuse issues like the Abrams turret ring where even Smin has posted pic showing it being 2 to 3 times thicker than it is in game, but the Russian tech jump is inevitable.

Its radar beam riding

Damn can i get BMD-2/3/4 with Berezhok module and 3UBR11 for it ?

Mig29 didnt get r73 for over 2 years, is constantly nerfed and was completely broken on release. This isn’t exclusive

Yea and I understand that. That’s why BR exist as a balancing tool. But what Gaijin should not do is nerf certain weapon for a certain nation to buff another nation, it’s a disgusting practice because it is easily abused

i mean mig29 has r27er and was dominating up until the first aim120 came out if I remember correctly

and wasnt there a few variants of mig29? I saw they moved mig29 up in BR and added another one or something, i am not sure so the issue might be because of multiple mig29 but i think i am wrong with this one

Beam riding doesn’t always mean radar, you can have a laser beam ridding missile too.
the difference between traditional “laser guidance” and beam riding" is a “laser guided” missile looks from its nose to see the end of the laser and goes for that. A “beam rider” used a rear mounted seeker to stay on a direct line to the target, the bean can be radar or laser. Obviously this means it cannot use top attack modes, but it also means the warhead doesn’t need to fire through the seeker.

I agree, I am offering explanations, to the best of my ability, not trying to make excuses.

Two targets can be engaged simultaneously due to modern target detection and guidance systems (one via automatic radar and another via semi-automatic laser-beam channel). The agility of the platform is another advantage against heavy armoured vehicles

This is from rosobornexport

As I said, I’m no expert on the systems, but that still limits them to guiding in missiles to 2 targets as opposed to the 16 of an apache

Thats not how it works. They will just correct.

Do I really need to add …“/s”… every single time? :D

No, I’m not…sadly… :D

Yeah and that’s going on for years, practically since WT begun.

The most ridiculous fact, that I figured only recently, is that Brimstone is just a supersonic PARS and it usually takes 2-4 PARS missiles to kill a single tank. Why the Brimstone couldn’t have been made MMW is beyond me, and I’d really, and I mean REALLY, like to hear GJ’s rationale behind that decision.

TLDR: not smokable, LOAL would be too little risk too high reward, teamkilling would be an issue.

Ofc that was all complete bs since they added the KH38MT only shortly after that.
