Can the JAGM get its mmW seeker now that half the Russian munitions get its man-in-the-loop?

yea proper loft angle would be so nice, but nah only Russia gets their proper loft angle

never ending cycle unfortunately

they said more would get it, probably going to have to wait until the dev server for a full initial list

(of those only CM-502KG is applicable afaik)

The external guidance pod for Khrizantemas is currently sat unused on the 28NM so, maybe lol

Russia has had a helicopter with MMW ATGMs for years the Khrizantema VMs are SAL/MMW duel channel, they just don’t have it activated in game.

Sure, but no.
Apache would be OP.
Same as EF if Brimstone went MMW.
Meanwhile, SM SV barely scratches a 76% WR in SB.

So how would man in the loop work? would you need to guide the missiles one at a time? if so that’s worse than normal fnf we have now since one launch would be very easy to shoot down. Or is it something you can switch to to change lock of already fired missile in fnf mode? if so i can see it being a bit useful if target dies before the missile hits, but not that powerful to warrant mmW seekers that can basically search and lock targets on their own.

But if for ipotesis i want to have some cointerplay against plane in a tank with this meccanic i simply cant. So tnx no

I the snail add to all veicles a you see a plane and it dye is 20 sec by geting smited from an orbital laser meccanic we can argue on its additicion

Pretty much
It’s why I don’t think this is going to make a big difference overall

I’m interested if the Buccaneers AJ.168s get actual TV guidance tho

Judging by the devblog, you will recieve a live image from the seeker of the last weapon you fired. From there, you can select a target in the seeker’s PoV for it to chabge its lock to. You dont actually guide the missile, only select what target in-frame for it to change its lock to.

However, you need to keep line-of-sight in order to use this. You cant fire a missile then dip behind a mountain.

Unfortunately not the JAGM as afaik US never gave it that capability

Wake me up if the kh38mt gets it. Non IR munitions will be useless because you wont be able to spot tanks most of the time

how would it make AH64E OP? All mmW allow it to do is track target through smoke. Vikhrs has been killing people through smoke for years (beam riding) and not a single nerf came through for it. And now that LMUR is getting MITL, it could just go for another target if the original target smokes up, and thanks to it lofting so high, it has a very good view of the battlefield

Also I want to point out that mmW would also allow JAGM to kill enemy heli because mmW ignores DIRCM, which sounds OP but 1: Mi28NM DIRCM overperform on a stupid level at the moment and irl it is near useless (ofc its not reflected in game), and 2: vikhrs is still sniping enemy heli from spawn because it is still the meta missile.

Typical Russian tech defying physic and NATO tech nerfed to shit, very realistic.

u have to be joking

gaijin really look at this and thought “yea this is fine” (Current state of Ground Sim)

yea cuz kh38mt isnt strong enough already

Tow can also kill through smoke. Do you think thats the issue behind them not adding a missile you can just press spacebar 16 times with almost no other input?

Did you find it out yourself in real life it works or not? I assume also the ah64e dircm (which is also better in game) works 100% perfectly right?

not just smoke, but trees as well, it would make hard cover the only defense against the missiles.

It’s also missing it’s HIRSS as a counter point
I’ll also point out that the Mi-28MNs’ Khrizantema VMs are duel channel SAL/MMW so rather than 8 LMUR they will be running 4 LMUR and 8 MMW Khrizantema VMs

They arent mmw fnf. They are more akin to fox1s like sparrows and you need an external pod (the NM might have an internal antenna)

TOW is a wobbling dildo and doesnt even compare to vikrs in term of anything

u can already do that right now, making them see through smoke is gona change nothing

i mean just use your eyes and brain for a second, the DIRCM on the mi28nm is at the back belly of the heli, which is an extremely limited angle, not a 360 dome that works perfectly in warthunder.

yes it does, the angle it covers is much more effective than the one on mi28nm

I literally said it works better in game. It has better coverage

not entirely, I’m not an expert so take this with a grain of salt, but MMW is fairly short range around ~3km or so, so it needs to be queued onto target, Apaches use their longbow radar and data link, the Mi-28NM uses the SAL to put the missile into the right area.
Think of it like a fox 3.

yea somehow USSR just seem to be able to overperform to keep up with NATO tech every time and never falls behind, but when its other way around, its okay for NATO to fall behind

Russian tech wet dream
