Can radar missles lock onto planes with no radars?

I would think not but my hunter f58 has chaff even though it doesn’t have a radar.

Radar missiles seek what their host jet (the jet firing the missile)'s radar is lighting up as the target. It doesn’t have anything to do with the target’s radar.

yeah they don’t lock onto the radar, the host plane uses radar to lock onto target. missiles that lock on to active radars would be an anti-radiation missile.

In game we only have active radar (except rwr), so it doesn’t matter what the enemy has or hasn’t.
So you can lock a rock, if it is in the right sitution. (except that in War Thunder apparently you have a yes/no thing if a thing can lock another thing to begin with. So in game you could never lock a rock, even if it has more and clearer radar returns than what it can lock in game)

That’s how modern-ish radars can lock ships, tanks etc, and if the programming allows everything they want to really.

You seems to be thing of Anti-Radiation Missiles which we do not have yet. Only those seek out other radars.
