Can I use the laser/tv screen in the cockpit?

Can I use the laser/tv screen in the cockpit without changing visual? ( like in DCS ) and if yes, how ?

I don’t think so, If they add that I’ll start to make some CAS

you cannot but on some strike aircraft you can view it directly from the cockpit
p.s I think i remember them saying that they will add that function, not 100% sure though

Yes you can you will have to select a TV/laser guided weapon and it should show up. To look through it without selecting you will have to set up a binding for change MFD 1/2/3 to cycle through the options.

…which will help you little.

I think the main question is whether the weapon can be aimed and locked through the cockpit’s display, instead of switching to its dedicated view.

I really hope this gets added eventually, as when you get “heads-down” by switching to the sight view (be that the missile’s seeker or targeting pod or similar…), you don’t see anymore what your aircraft does. The danger of crashing is high…

Not really, at least on VR, some awfull icons show over the MFD

You can hide those by clicking the little symbol right of the icons or using the keystroke to show/hide actionbar.

The little simbol only shows when there are several icons, when there is only 1 icon, you can’t.

And you hide the icons, but the little symbol remaians, and in VR even if small, it completly ruins the MFD in VR, because it’s on a plane behind the MFD, and it’s imposible to focus on it, because we are ussing stereoscopic view like IRL.

Yes you can. I do this all the time…

Or try using the keystroke (never tried that though…)

Yes, it’s still bad, and I hate it, but still, the little chevron is better than having the whole bar icons obstruct your view - and in an headache-imposing strange focus-level for VR…

Can you in the Jaguar Gr1A ? In some planes it works, but in other planes tha symbol doesn’t show

Hm, that would be a bug then, I think…

I hope that if we get control slewing from MFD’s we get better visuals through them. Some screens on certain aircraft are just completely unusable.

The radar target identification screen on the F-14B needs some work, it’s basically just a white screen on most maps. That is if it would track a target without needing the LANTIRN pod equipped.

I believe he means an Situation where you got only the new visuall weapon selector, because this one alone cant be hidden currently for some reason, when you have more than these one Icon you can hide it, but not when its alone

Again, I suspect this is a bug and should be reported a s such, because for me for example I can toggle that icon on and off using the little “toggle action bar” icon right of the large icon(s), also if there’s only the weapon selector icon.

+1, eagerly waiting for such a feature to be added.

It’s kind of disappointing that we don’t have this available in the game yet. Was hoping that this would be worked on for the last update since there was a bit of a focus on MFD screens for various aircraft. But sadly not.

Yes, as much as I love WT, the whole controls philosophy of this game I find really suboptimal and far FAR from state of the art.

To rigid with some hardcoded stuff (MCLOS guidance locked to tank movement), too incomplete, and in some cases too conflicting (helicopter controls for example are a mess, with certain functions restricted to certain control modes, etc…). Or outright nonsensical (deadzone only configurable in the middle of a throttle axis).

If only we could freely assign and configure all functions like for example how it can be done with FSUIPC for the MSFS…

Yeah there’s loads of functions that are either missing or completely broke which hopefully we see added/fixed but knowing Gaijin it will be a while before they are added. Especially when they would be great for Sim. Even something like allowing a second throttle axis would be massive and show that Gaijin still remember that Sim exists.
