Air superiority point is actually the ONLY objective meant for fighters. You will get points for just capturing it. If you manage to kill someone, even better. You are encouraged to stay in it so the speed and chance of capturing is higher. After it has been captured, there is no immediate need for fighters there any more so it’s time to RTB, not go around hunting more airkills and then crying when getting killed. Alternatively, fuel and ammo permitting, you can loiter there and provide cover for incoming attackers/tactical bombers that go after ground units. The issue here is - the people you killed when capping are instantly in the missile range or on the way, with fresh weaponry and knowledge that you are there. I wrote a suggestion (that is in limbo for 4 months almost) saying amonghst other things, that fighters should get passive score if in certain proximity of another plane getting points with other means. You escort a bomber - when he drops and bombs hit, you get 50% or whatever, for your trouble. I personally have no issue just tagging along and chatting with the bomber, but for balanced economy sake, something could be done about it.
Hombre, I play almost excusively 128km maps and I take great risks flying Lancasters and such. Round trip on Denmark is usually 3 UA, 2 of those with 0 reward, but rish of being clapped for the whole duration. And spawn cost is higher than your precious (let alone premium) jets. I passively get progression just by enjoying surviving. No premium, no nothing.
system is really broken. they broke the sim just to get rid of chinese RMT easely.
now im encouraged to get 1 kill, get to the airfield and just sit there for about 10min, just waiting for a timer to click. then do it again. thats the efficient way, if i want rp and cant just mindlessly grind ARB.
I would love to see huge maps in sizes of small countries, that you have to preserve fuel and not be in afterburner the whole time make it boring for zombers and interesting for players that bomb bases and actually play the game (I would love to fly my su34 10 meters from the ground trow my grom2 in bases open my radar find 2 targets fire my beloved ETs and then try to reach my airfield or die trying or spawn my su27 and try to intercept the enemy strike aircraft or cover my teammates)
Create a problem (grind) and sell a solution (premium time, premium vehicles, converting GE into RP/SL).
Morvan gets it, any changes Gaijin will decide to carry out on current flawed system very likely will not benefit players.
Suicide bumrushing is what you DON’T want to do for getting the most payout. And even if you do for speedrunning event grinds, most bumrushers get killed by AA which as of late got whole lot more dangerous around airfields.
Your closest call on “punishing grinders” is detecting idle people on or close to airfields waiting for UA period do end. But someone who is actively maneuvering to keep their aircraft in air cannot be blamed for passive play. And for forced participation in meat assaults I already have ARB.
Ground strike is also part of air simulator battles, is one of the positive points compared to the chaos of the bad environment that realistic battles evolved to, which I was expecting to be restricted only to arcade air battles.
That is impossible, like trying to quantify the value of accountants, maintenance personell, helpdesk people and so on. You cannot do without them, but they don’t bring in any money, most of the time the company is losing money on them. Maybe there is a moment where people are spawncamping airfields (another thing that would have diminishing effect with giant maps, since fuel becomes an issue and they cannot just loiter indefinitely) and I will wait 5 minutes with my engines on while AA/friendly fighters take out the aggressor so I can takeoff in peace, and as a result, the system could false flag me for being a bot. Or maybe the case of setting up perfect trim and just not touching controls (I have gone for smoke breaks when circling a map), which could also false flag me, despite me “wasting” reward opportunities.
Everybody that has more than 500 hours in this game knows why Gaijin made a system like that. Nobody here is stupid nor is anybody here denying it. What I’m saying is that repeating this in replies doesn’t do anyone any good. I’m asking concrete ideas and arguments on how to make a better system and hopping for enough noise and exposure from community so it can get pushed into mainstream discussion.
Maybe I phrased it wrong, from my understanding apart from obvious bots where they play both sides to give / get free kills, issue was with people doing bomb-suicide runs. That’s why I said to nerf / cap bombing rewards. I would like to have every kind of gameplay possible in sim, bombing/strafing runs, air to air combat, escorting missions, even full out combine battles, but obviously that’s just dreaming.
so you getting why gaijin nerfed the rewards to the ground and crippled the economy to pieces and you, as a player, still want to nerf something? to get sim even less popular, than it is now?
btw i expect them to do not only that, but a whole lot more nerfs to sim, so it will be not only inefficient, like now, it will get unprofitable. they will need to push some people into their new sim game :D
Did you read the whole discussion or did you just pick this comment out of context? This statement was in the context of having old reward system that was being exploited, not the current abysmal system we have now. And it does not mean you nerf rewards so nobody bombs again, it means in a way that its balanced, so it can’t be easily exploited but it still rewards the players that like that kind of gameplay same as it does to people that like air to air combat.
but it will be exploited anyway. unless there is nothing to exploit. you dont know the chinese? there almost nothing to exploit right now and its still being exploit lol. the only thing left for them is just getting points for the marathon. and idk why they didnt it rp\sl gain instead of points.
the only way to cut exploitation to a minimum is to get rid of chinese RMT. which they wont ever do.
Just as I stated above, its a game, there will always be people trying to exploit or straight up cheat. If a gaming company thinks they can just not “police” and work on systems that detect such behaviour and punish it, then they shouldn’t even have a game. Its very simple, seeing people say these kinds of things seems to me that they think this is a player issue and that we have to suffer for it and not Gaijin who obviously doesn’t invest enough money and time to resolve or keep this problem in check.
Don’t be mistaken, Gaijin has more than enough resources to combat issues with cheaters, botters, bad game servers and such. But if there is no pushback and demand from the customers, why would they waste those to fix it, when they can just keep adding more 80$ pixels and make grind harder to force people to buy it. Its very simple.
This is something that is hard to fix, distinguishing passive (zombieing) gameplay to active gameplay would require a lot of work without affecting active gameplay in ground strike regard. I sincerly hope that rewards are reworked for good, not bad. I’m not an combat active player in simulator air battles, so I just prefer ground strike most of the time, given that only base bombing and airfield strike are the ones really profitiable, you can understand at some point why people completely ignore other objectives like convoy attacks and frontline assistance.
Nobody is doubting that, also a lot of the points and ideas given here are mostly fictional, very hard to implement. But they have to start bit by bit and see what works and what doesn’t, but it has to be pushed as a demand, alongside other things, there should be a thread somewhere where we could make a list of things we need are of high priority to fix / implement (top tier stock chaff O.O).
Convoy/frontline tasks are “not profitable” because no aircraft has enough ordnance to deal with those in single sortie, maybe in two before objective/UA period ends. Then those tend to shoot back, especially convoys aimbot grade AA ceasing your existence the moment you enter gun range as well notorious desync between what you see and where vehicles actually are, driving demand for stand off FnF ordnance.
Clearing those objectives do deplete enemy tickets FAST, so there’s that.
No, it’s ridiculously easy. Do I have a plane target locked/IR locked and launch a missile at them? Did they eject? Mark their account.
Are 90% of the players points from damaging AF modules followed by dying to SPAA? Mark their account.
You can find zombies and aimbotters just by looking at their statistics and watching a few high scoring games. Players who consistently get far above the average kills along with high ‘first strike’ and ‘sniper’ awards in ground games are likely cheating… they will also never launch drones or scout since they don’t need to. These people are easy to find just by statistics.
Instead players need to leave the game and report them…
As far I’m concerned, a zomber is the kind of player with one objective in mind that will ignore all kinds of warnings during the flight and fly straight to its objective, and using a intentional game mechanic to punish players is the exact same as: “Click here to get banned” kind of button that would lay around in the screen free to be clicked on, as I said, it’s something hard to do due to the complexity to differentiate active gameplay from passive gameplay.
In ground battles is more like a need of a good anti-cheat software for the game and knowledge of which systems and flaws these same cheating tools is taking advantage of; you can somewhat differentiate zombers from active players during the matches but not by profile-checking: using myself as example I likely have no scored air targets in my planes in air simulator battle because I have no set-up for air combat so I just get on airstrike, at first glance I do look like a zomber but, would you be able to know that? This is the problem.
