Works for me on Su 39, off the top of my head. Know it did for a few others though, but tired. Su 39 has a similar issue but trim seems to resolve it.
Wierdly, I actually have the opposite problem. My nose wants to lawn dart without constant imputs whilst in damping mode actually.
That’s a bit odd. I checked my stuff whilst it was happening and didn’t have an errant input so it should be pretty similar?
In theory :D
Also would help if I linked the clip I recorded of it
Play games to get away from the software making me want to do my head in, then discover this. Fun.
Give me a second to test it. I can’t record atm but I’ll let you know the result
Yeah…
Yeah now it wants to hit the dirt apparently.
Based upon some quick tests, the airframes seem to nose down naturally with no imput. but a 2-3% elevator trim stops it. So both Damping and automatical leveling just need a slight 2-3% elevator trim increase
I’ll check that, give me a second.
On my end, pitching down even taking the trim up to 5%, until mach 1.05. Then 3% works, more or less.
Just checked the Phantom FGR2 and its rocked solid in a straight with and without damping mode on (at low speeds with damping on though it does tend to pull up a little)
was hoping to find a comparable aircraft, where Damping counters natural aircraft tendenancies. Bugger it, I will try and report, send it over to the almighty Gunjob and see what happens
Harrier. It is a bit funny flying without damping, but one of the best with it. At least on my end.
Was looking for supersonic, but will give it a quick test
I’ll see if there’s anything I have that flies that way only one I can think of is the harrier.
Harrier Gr7 seem stable in both Manual and Damping (and on a quick side note, would love the Gr7 HUD on the Gripen, that would be awesome, Gr7 is still probably my favoruite HUD on any British aircraft (though the actually Sea harrier FRS1 does look good too) )
Jaguar? Seems to pitch down without damping but stabilises at speed with it.
Had the exact same thought
Just letting it go with damping on and it is basically flying where I put it.
Yep, that is perfect for the bug report, same nose down behaviour too
Might see if I can find any other examples.
