Do we have systems that allow us to launch missiles with active radar homing heads using an infrared scanning sensor? I mean, in game. I know it can work like that IRL.

Until the US/USSR/Russia/China have this system (in game), we can’t even think about it.

Slamraam thing? I don’t have it to check.

I’d put money on no gun for GCAP, RAF already tried to get it killed on Eurofighter (and then became its primary user), it’s more likely to have an integral APKWS module like the F-89 than a gun.

if anything, i expect low level work like that will be left to CCA

Maybe but that takes some of the precision and situational analysis out of it leading to an increased rate of misfire/friendly fire.

Additionally as I keep pointing out the UK doesn’t have the wide-band satellite network to support unmanned operations regardless of whether that’s naval assets, or aerial ones, they require another interlinked node (which means a manned vessel/aircraft), which the UK doesn’t have, has just axed one programme for it, and has no real future plans to develop.

So it’s all a fantasy anyway :))))

Honestly i’m surprised the UK isn’t suggesting bringing back cluster-munitions as a cheaper alternative to Brimstones or precision weapons.

Anything to save some money right :)))

this could be the new thing setting apart a superpower from a world power

Aren’t we building out a LEO satellite network literally as we speak? I’m sure the purchase of OneWeb wasn’t just to do GPS and internet…

Given recent decisions by the English, that would not be too outside the realms of plausibility.

Skynet 6 got axed which was part of the strategy to support geostationary UCAV operations and transmit commands to the Royal Navy’s autonomous Type 9X series of vessels as part of Atlantic Bastion.

Some of the other programmes are indeed still active but you need both wideband and narrowband coverage in geosynchronous orbit to support the sheer scale of drone operations the UK wants without needing a connecting manned node to relay commands.

Well the new Drone Command Ships serve as relays, EFT will continue its improvements via LTE (now confirmed in the DIP) which includes a number of goodies (more datalink goodness being one of them);

And F-35 is already built with teaming in mind. As will GCAP.

Does anyone know what kind of pylon this is? Is it just a double pylon at an unusual angle? It looks like a T-shape pylon to me. It’s FA.2

It’s the twin sidewinder carrier with two LAU-7 rails and a ACMI pod on inboard rail.

Cant wait for the 24/7 HMD because no HUD on the new Cockpit :3

Yeah Striker II is great bit of kit.

Has there been any recent news on Striker II deployment. Ive looked a few times but could only find the sources for it going into testing end of last year

The Rapier system with its “hittles” comes to mind XD

There is some pictures of the “gun” being in different positions on a field so the turret part was probably functional.
Even if the cannon was just a simple tube for demonstration purposes its probably real enough to get added as an event vehicle if anything, Since we got a few vehicles that have ahistorical armaments already.

Not specifically British but apparently Airbus and the Luftwaffe are looking to make a “mothership” version of the A400M to deploy drone swarms or “up to twelve cruise missiles the size of a Taurus”.

I wonder if the UK would also jump in on a project like that to bolster their capabilities in a relatively cheap way using it to deploy Storm Shadow, would be similar to the US’s Rapid Dragon system for their MC-130’s and C-17’s.

Hoi4 ass special project.
