I agree tbh, that 1-10x jump makes it unusable

They do not set it at 1, as in most cases camera is located inside the gun barrel, so at 0, you would not see anything (or so they say, don’t ask me about this magic). As to why they won’t give it a smaller number that fits, idk.

can they atleast make the 1x for the ajax’s commander

I’m about 98% certain the barrel doesn’t actually render in sights as the sight is inside the barrel mesh (which has no interior texture) (if you look very closely the barrel is actually there even at higher zoom levels, it causes some artefacting on thermals.)

If it comes with fixed 6x gunner and commander that’s going to be awful.

afaik your own vehicle isn’t rendered in the gunner sight, not sure about if it renders if you enable camera from gunner view. Commander sight does render the vehicle I think.

When you’re inside the vehicle mesh (sight is inside the base of the barrel) the vehicle isn’t visible. Same thing is achievable by clipping your camera inside another vehicle (except ships!). However, if you push the barrel up against something you’ll see artefacting on thermals from the barrel which is absolutely still there and rendered.

like this

so the barrel blocking your view is impossible because it would do already if true

Also we could have 1 more round…

not accounting for whatever the hell happened here

More Ajax was always going to be substandard aside from a few variants of it. BMPT is very easy to defeat, by most anything at the rating.

So is the ammo belt the big weakspot?
I imagine it’s somewhere on the turret, the hull is probably hard to engage with IFV rounds

sigh guess I need to start grinding it now!

Shoot about the middle of the turret with almost anything, even had some success with low caliber machine guns, to set off the ammo. It may not kill the thing outright, but it cripples it enough to approach it and kill it proper. Killed it most of the time, sometimes it survives. IFVs will have a better time if they get closer to it after crippling it, on account of the armour, but you can sneak rounds through it at range with most 40mms.

Really? From the front?

So you can’t ammo rack it from the ammo belts that go into the guns?

Where did I say this?

If you can hit the belts, which you can from just about anywhere but underneath it, you can cook the BMPT. It will sometimes explode, sometimes not, thanks to rounds not going off when hit from changes a while back.

I wasn’t sure what you meant by middle of the turret, there’s quite a bit of empty space so i expected it to just spall into nothing if not shot exactly in the ammo belt

Fair enough, you can aim better than just “the middle” but I’ve found you don’t really need to, spalling does the job if you miss by a little.

It does, which leads to some silly things:

M109A2 - Gun break blocks vision past 1500 when laying range

This text will be hidden

Olifant Mk.2 - The top of the modelled gunner's sight blocking the view at high elevations

AMX-13-75 SS.11 - ATGM fins take up tonnes of FOV

Ratel ZT3A2 - Spare tire and stowage box block view over the rear

Plus more that I can’t remember off the top of my head

Question, anyone know much about the “M-910-21/22-10” gunpod thats on the new MB326B? It looks super similar to the EDGP-050 Gun Pod 0.50.

Just that it seems familiar to me in my brain somewhere and the guys who make the EDGP also make whats basically the modern universal twin 7.62 pod that strikemaster uses and I am thinking… is this the .50cal gunpod that was mentioned in my strikemaster book that was also available to the strikemaster?

Just thought if anyone knew of it/had data it might help to try and nudge on the strikemaster too as gaijin seem to not be interested in putting the miniguns on the plane.

I suppose a 20mm is out of the question then
