True, but still nice to be able to fly without having to use the map

(and carriers dont reveal till scouted)

I know the badger is south african but has anyone tried getting it the MP round?

Found an absolute doozy of a 1 pixel weak spot that allows any vic with over 100 mm of pen and enough aphe filler to one shot the conqueror frontally. Only found out about it cus of course someone managed to send a round through the thing. I have already made a bug report on it as volumetric alone should stop the round, but gaijin is gaijin so…

had this happen one too many times, shows my luck. i decided to stop playing after that lo.

Sorry for diving into the past, but is the barheight the search height or is the elevationLimits the search height? The radar wont capture the high IL-28 in the test flight, so I thought the radar might have the wrong elevation right now…

Because, as an example, the SANTAL with its DR-VC-1A radar have an elevationLimits of 90 and a barheight of 15, but is able to locate vehicles at any height

Bar height is the elevation

Elevation limits is the stabilization, so it will keep itself level if a vehicle is up to a 10° incline.

I see.

Both the Stormer AD and the SANTAL have 360x45 on the HUD, but the french radar definitely seems like it searches a lot higher

AD radar was bugged some time ago, maybe its back. I have not played with it in a while.

It does definitely not have 45 degree elevation on the search radar. I couldnt pick up a F-5E at 4250 meters altitude at a range of 8700 meters. To locate the F-5E at that altitude and distance it would require the radar to have at least 30 degree elevation.

Spoiler

Nothing on the radar

Distance to F-5E

Altitude of F-5E

Is there any dedicated asraam thread? want to talk about r74m2 compared to it

We don’t have a dedicated ASRAAM thread. I guess it falls under the umbrella of this thread.

look at the typhoon thead, one of the guys there has compiled a list of all the known stats for the more modern missiles. From what i remember comparing the 2 isnt really worth your time as the asraam is for range and speed meaning up close it cant pull as hard as its already going twice as fast as other missiles. So up close the r74 would “beat it”.The r74 (from what i know) is a cqb missile so compare it to the I-rst if anything, But then the I-rst would have it beat as it is THE best cqb ir missile so maybe Its more a 9x equivilant.

I guess we could have a dedicated “British AAM” thread. It’ll only be like 5 missiles or so. I guess maybe “British missiles” and include like LMM and Martel.

That’s basically what this thread is. It was originally intended for aircraft weapon systems. But seems to have been taken over by tank talk lately.

This seems to be more cold war era stuff. Any plans to expand to Second World War systems?

Such as? In terms of guided AAM’s or AAM’s we had some of the first operational and they’re all cold war.
