how does loal work if it doesn’t have datalink, wouldn’t seeker just lose track without any updates
LOAL without DL works on a simple bases. The missile is launched onto a predicted target path, and goes there. Once it gets close enough it enables it’s seeker and starts searching for the target.
I love Error 405
so it basically has iog
Yes it does.
Without datalink though, how would an aircraft launch an asraam at 50km, because most likely if the target even slightly deviates from the course at launch it would miss becuase no datalink. That’s why I think the rvv-md2 will be better from long range becuase it has datalink
- ASRAAM has a very long seeker detection range
- The IOG of ASRAAM has a very low drift speed and when a target isn’t manuvering it allows for very long range shots.
Hunter FGA.9 - AIM-9E on the wrong pylon

Wonderful lmao
Stormer HVM seems to be the only search sensor equipped SAM without the AA menu. Fun.
Dont know if its just me but the search irst seems to not be properly aligned. The markers at the top with the compass dont match whats on the radar and it makes finding anything impossible. Been killed by multiple planes flying 1km up just because i cant find them.
Also, I thought the fuze and distance change was meant to help. Im phasing through drones and planes alike now again. Helis have been the only thing ive been able to shoot down. Especially because people are noticing the darts alot easier now? Might just be my luck.
The radars display are bugged now, on everything.
Idk about phasing, I only looked in test drive
My ping was at 17 so i doubt its that. I got pissed at a recon drone as the irst refuses to lock anything but them if even a single one is up so it stopped me from being able to find the heli that was up. I used 20 missiles on it and not a single one hit, all phased through. ALso happened with a Missile drone, but with 10 before it was shot down by a pantsir.
Haven’t been able to hit a plane today as they all notice the missile before it gets close to them, some being a4es and such so i have no clue. Normally people dont realise they have one on them, its hard enough to hit a target going in a straight line anyway lol.
I do wonder if we’ll actually pay certification for release of ASRAAM, Paveway IV etc. on these if there remains only 12 of them. As it stands, A, B and C do separate flight clearances with weapons, even if the mission software is the same.
I think Italy is funding Meteor trials for the 35A though, so they will be able to take those.
Since it’s already software integrated and it’s externally mounted so there is no internal bay stuff, if they do it will probably cost less
Yeah, dumb decision really. Because its replacing F-35Bs so now our carriers are down on power
Eh not really, A) The waiting list for B’s is a little bit insane, For the same number of Bs you can get As much much quicker B) Eh it’s replacing the B’s used for training, which shouldn’t be included in the fleet power
AH right. Someone told me that we were getting As instead of more Bs. But that would make sense.
But still. Does seem like a bit of a waste of effort. Especially if we cant use ASRAAMs or Meteors on them for years
