British Weapon Systems - Technical data and discussion

look at the typhoon thead, one of the guys there has compiled a list of all the known stats for the more modern missiles. From what i remember comparing the 2 isnt really worth your time as the asraam is for range and speed meaning up close it cant pull as hard as its already going twice as fast as other missiles. So up close the r74 would “beat it”.The r74 (from what i know) is a cqb missile so compare it to the I-rst if anything, But then the I-rst would have it beat as it is THE best cqb ir missile so maybe Its more a 9x equivilant.

I guess we could have a dedicated “British AAM” thread. It’ll only be like 5 missiles or so. I guess maybe “British missiles” and include like LMM and Martel.

That’s basically what this thread is. It was originally intended for aircraft weapon systems. But seems to have been taken over by tank talk lately.

This seems to be more cold war era stuff. Any plans to expand to Second World War systems?

Such as? In terms of guided AAM’s or AAM’s we had some of the first operational and they’re all cold war.

Appears to be fixed now,

Featuring no less than 3 different @da12thmonkey camo’s, bunch of the little cinematics from various videos chopped up. Honestly my favourite part of making a video lately has been clipping from replays, need further practice with my camera angles still though.

does asraam have loal + datalink

It has LOAL.
DL is a bit tricky, as it is not confirmed directly.

how does loal work if it doesn’t have datalink, wouldn’t seeker just lose track without any updates

LOAL without DL works on a simple bases. The missile is launched onto a predicted target path, and goes there. Once it gets close enough it enables it’s seeker and starts searching for the target.

I love Error 405

so it basically has iog

Yes it does.

Without datalink though, how would an aircraft launch an asraam at 50km, because most likely if the target even slightly deviates from the course at launch it would miss becuase no datalink. That’s why I think the rvv-md2 will be better from long range becuase it has datalink

  1. ASRAAM has a very long seeker detection range
  2. The IOG of ASRAAM has a very low drift speed and when a target isn’t manuvering it allows for very long range shots.

Stormer HVM seems to be the only search sensor equipped SAM without the AA menu. Fun.
