British Weapon Systems - Technical data and discussion

Lol, that’s some politking speak if I’ve ever heard it. “How can we spin this in a way that makes it seem like an advantage?”

I heard that Stinger was even cheaper than Blowpipe…

A) They had confidence to begin with?
B) Train them to ID targets?
C) I mean don’t all systems need their own training?
D) Straight up lying to make Blowpipe sound better
E) Fair enough, if this was a stinger without IRCCM.
F) So the solution to having an effective MANPAD is to not buy one and stick with the useless mess that was Blowpipe.

Also (7.) More concerned about how it would look than how good the system was.

Does anyone have any of these books?

“Naval Weapons of World War Two” by John Campbell
“Run the Gauntlet: The Channel Dash 1942” by Ken Ford
“From Fancy to Stingray: British Torpedoes since 1945” article by Antony Preston in “Warships Volume V”

Also @Gunjob I know it’s late but could you take a look at this?
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/mGuD9vLkiuLb I don’t have any sources about the American bombs and rockets but the torpedoes would be a nice addition. Maybe we could bring it up to rank III again.

Is that an Aim 7?

skyflash unfortunately

Thanks, it will probably also just be the DF version

Yep. Unless they decide to pull a Tornado F3 again and just give it stock Skyflash to begin with again

Too many issues in one report.

You can look at this one for the wrong tail gun

Forwarded but my god that’s alot of text to say “The in-game model is a .303 but the x-ray and stats card show a Vickers K.”.

Most of it is going back and forth between a .30 or a .303 but yeah that was really too much words. I still wouldn’t mind seeing some American bombs, rockets and torpedoes on top of the British stuff.

Do you think it would be worth suggesting 155mm L15 shell for the M109A1? The round didn’t enter service til 1985 but the M109s stayed in service until 1992. The figures here make it seem better than M107 it currently has.

Sure, but figures from where?

How i can send a video for this topic from phone

The shell is apparently coming this update, for the new Japanese Type 99 SPH. So gaijin already have the figures they want

It was a shell developed by the UK for the FH70 field gun, which was also exported and built under licence in Japan. So that’s why they have it in inventory.
It’s definitely used in AS90 along with the L21 HE shell (UK-spec M107), but I’m not 100% certain which M109s might have used it.
