British Phantom's BR

I see your point, but you have to remember, the Skyflash really one has a range of 5-7 miles. So I do think the 12.0 9L, and 11.7 Same, is a good compromise, but I do think that it really wont be too bad with 9L’s at 11.7. Because the FGR/FG will have better weapons, but the MLD will have better flight preformance equally effective (I think)

IMO its more nuanced than that.

If we were talking about currents MiG-23 BR with its pre-seek and destroy performance, id say its undertiered at 11.7.

Ive spaded MLA back in may last year, and played it a lot around jan/feb (or whenever they got their radar first changed). Its jan/feb performance was amazing, and i would put it higher than PD Phantoms at that time.

However, with seek and destroy, its radar got massively nerfed. As it is now, I would take british phantom any day. Now, with MiG-23 you cant select radar modes, and you only have PD mode if you are above certain altitude looking down.

Also dont forget Phantoms have twice the radar missiles over MiG-23s, and while R-60M/MKs are all aspect, you essentially have to shove them into enemy pilots bottom before you launch them in tail chase (read the range in tailchase is VERY bad).

The Viggen C is 11.3, and I’d say it is a better aircraft than the phantoms even with less missiles, even the Viggen D is at 12.0 with 9Ls and much more countermeasures.
