I’d argue it wouldn’t be terrible until 10.0. Certainly a lot better than Sweden, Advance to the Rhine or all the other city maps at top tier

Honestly yeah, would like to see it make a return.
Generally had fun games on this map, and it felt relatively balanced.
Most of the counter arguments are moot points anyways these days (Or, at least, the only one that seems to keep popping up)
“Early spawn camping” That’s just 75% of all matches nowadays; people take caps, then rush enemy spawn (usually dying and then losing because they end up being spawn camped afterwards).
And yeah, the map could also just… be modified. It’s a fictional location. No harm in changing some stuff.
If you want to talk early spawn camping, lets talk about some Mozdok versions and Berlin (in some cases).
I could agree with a BR cap though, as some have said. Maybe up to 9.0 matches at most. Bit small for things like Leopard 2s and T-72s.

I am still in disbelieve about wolokolamsk coming back, even though it was hated by many players.
Meanwhile nicer maps like white rock fortress get completely removed, even though that map doesn’t have as many issues as wolokolamsk.
You can’t even access the map via custom battles anymore.

Gajin has said a lot of things. Most ppl will prolly have forgotten abt what they said by the end of December, and the few who remember won’t get much attention.
It would be pretty cool if it actually does return though.
Lying about a map returning would be bad but if they had no intention to bring it back they wouldn’t have included the question. It’s not like the other topics that they tried to make up excuses for.
I hope they stick to their word this time but you can’t be 100% sure of course.
I have never played this map but I don’t think it’s possible to be worse than Berlin(that’s now covered in meaningless foliage) and Sweden(which is awful for even Swedish tanks, btw) so I’m all for it

WRF was amazing is had tons of (non foliage) cover and flank routes.

If I can flank, it’s an interesting map, and not entirely CQC bullshit so I can use Pvkv m/43’s 15.9x zoom then yessiree I’m all for it
The AB/RB version is rather small but there was a big Sim version with the surroundings of the castle as a playable area.
Bring it back and just leave it out of high tier rotations. Done.

This is just it…it was far from historical by any measure…but it was FUN to play.
Probably won’t work at higher BRs…but as small and clustered maps go it was actual better than many others…

Thankfully we have map BRs now. Let’s just hope they actually use it and don’t make it 1.0-12.7 like Cargo Port, Abandoned Factory, Iberian Castle or Advance To The Spawn…
