BR system - Compression and Frustration

You listed few BRs compared to the 34 BRs in-game.

And no, I’m not. You have to do ALL the work of decompression before you change the matchmaker as well to verify that 0.7 will be balanced.
0.7 is harder than decompression, saying otherwise is a blatantly lie.

Decompression is less work than all the work decompression requires + changing the matchmaker to be worse.

Just giving us 13.0 BR in Ground would solve many issues people have.
With the addition of new AAs they’ll literally be forced to give us more BRs, so I’m looking forward for that update in particular.

Ah yes, it’s not a solution to have room to move planes around without sudden technological leaps.

Let’s look at the F86A5 in ASB.

It’s 8.7 right now.

It completely wipes the floor with 7.7/8.0 aircraft and they have zero counterplay against it. Fighting Hortens in a sabre feels dirty and wrong.

However, moving it up moves it into Ariete territory which will dominate the Sabre without any counterplay.

So let’s move the ariete up. Now it can face F8E that can slap it out of the air with invisible SARH as the ariete has no RWR or chaff.

So let’s move the F8E up… the list of issues go on.

What about moving the horten and the likes down? Well, now they face F7Fs and Spitfires and other props that cannot realistically do anything against jets if the jets are played using appropriate tactics as they’ll never catch them and be able to put pressure.

What do you call this?

Compression.

You cannot move a plane up that dominates in downtiers because it would get completely destroyed by things above it.

You cannot move a plane down that gets dominated as it would ruin things below it.

Korean jets are completely ruined by compression.

In prop tiers, I can take a balanced 4.0 plane (Bf109F4) into a 4.0-5.0 match and have fun and have ways to pressure and compete with enemies.

In korean jets? If I take my F86A5 into a lobby that contains italy and is 8.0-9.0 I have to deal with Ariete just denying my existence - it is faster, it accelerates better, it maneuvers better. It’s a 0.3 BR step for a massive leap in performance. If I bring the F86A5 into a full uptier of 8.7-9.7 I have things with 30G IR missiles in a korean war jet. I tend to be on the opposite side of things - F3H-2 with its radar that can bully Mig-15bises and it shouldn’t be doing that. Fact that my best KDR is in the F3H-2 for sim is not because of my skill with it, but the stupidity of radar fighting korean jets.

These jets have no RWR. These are gunfighter jets whose bread and butter is energy and thus need altitude to trade for energy and to dive out of bad situations. radar missiles denies them going above 2 km as something can just radar missile them from their blindspots below them and unlike 9B, it can come from any angle.

Damn that’s crazy. Still not needed.

So you think it is perfectly normal for aircraft whose entire mode of operation is based upon

  1. Visual spotting
  2. Altitude-Speed energy conversions to gain a dominant position on someone’s six
  3. Short-range gunfights
  4. Visual short-range IFF (~less than 0.8 km)

to potentially fight aircraft that has

  1. Search & Track Radar
  2. IFF on radar
  3. Missiles that can be fired from any angle provided there’s not a lot of ground clutter (most notably: in a head-on from a distance the enemy is not even aware you’re an enemy.)

this happens in ARB with almost all 8.0-9.0 bombers vs F3h-2 Demon with its AIM7c i was flying the demon and locked what i thought was going to be a TU14 or IL28 and i felt bad because it was a TU4 in a full up tier
