Welcome to the suggestion for the Boxer RCH 155! This is a self-propelled howitzer, similar to the PzH 2000, but on the wheeled Boxer chassis. Compared to the PzH 2000 in-game, this would feature greater mobility, and a more modern artillery piece with an unmanned turret, while still retaining the firepower and capabilities of the PzH 2000.

Overview

The Donar / AGM at Eurosatory 2010.

Intended as a lighter and more mobile howitzer for air transport, Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) developed the AGM (Artillery Gun Module or Artillerie-Geschütz-Modul) self-propelled howitzer in the early 2000s. A further development of this, marketed as the Donar, used an ASCOD 2 IFV chassis, and was first revealed in 2008. As the wheeled GTK Boxer began to gain interest in the early 2010s, KMW pondered the idea of installing the AGM on the Boxer chassis, announcing its intention to develop the concept in 2014. In 2021, KMW, now KNDS Deutschland, revealed the RCH 155, a lower profile development of the AGM. It was publicly shown for the public on August 18th, 2021, showcasing its ability to fire while moving.

The centerpiece of the RCH 155 is its 155 mm L/52 howitzer, capable of firing 8 rounds a minute and rotating 360° and elevating up to 65°. Its range depends on the projectile, charge, and ignition, but can reach 40 km with base-bleed ammunition. A notable feature of the RCH 155 is that the turret is entirely unmanned, leaving a high level of automation for the driver and commander, who make up the entire crew complement. Along with being capable of multiple rounds simultaneous impact mode, the RCH 155 is capable of hunter-killer mode, with the fire order and search for the next target able to be carried out in tandem.

Since being unveiled, the RCH 155 has been fitted to the Swiss Piranha IV 10x10 chassis, which Switzerland has subsequently adopted to replace its M109 KAWEST WE howitzers. Interest has been shown by the Netherlands, Spain, and the United States. The RCH 155 on the Boxer chassis has been adopted by Ukraine and United Kingdom, and Germany in July 2024, with Italy, and Qatar likely to follow.
