So, if you’re here, you probably have noticed the same issue or are confused on why your laser guided bomb is missing your target in perfect conditions. Don’t worry, it may not be you at fault for it. So, in top tier, NATO is pretty limited on long range capability to strike targets at range. One trick you may have though is bomb tossing to get that extra range, which is a real tactic, only for your bomb to not track. Well, that’s because any up angle will cause the bomb to wobble and miss the target, even if it has plenty of energy stored up and the seeker head is tracking your laser. I’ve put up a bug report ( Bomb tossing laser guided bombs breaks them // Gaijin.net // Issues) so if y’all would like to, head over there to add to that and hopefully we can get this fixed!
Don’t believe me? This is with a 2.5* nose up attitude.

EDIT: Actually, after some more testing, I’m also having this occur in level flight or in a dive. I’ve tried directly on the target, undershooting the target and overshooting the target and the only way I can get it to hit the target is if I’m coming from almost directly above.
I cannot see if there is hidden extra info you submitted in your bug report, but did you include a link to your youtube video in your report already? If not I would definitely add the video link in a reply on your report too 👍
yea F-117 has this same bug …if you stay in targeting view the aircraft will rise up on its own accord if your really fast its not bad but if you spend a few extra seconds lifts up the nose like your pressing the free look button and voila your bomb wont track this happens with laser guided and GNSS targeting
That’s probably b/c you have it set to auto leveling if I had to guess. I have it turned off so I maintained a 2.5* up angle with 1G load during the release.
yeah i’ve tried activate the laser designator last second after toss, so the seeker head align with the target hoping i’ll correct it self toward the laser, but that didn’t work as well
The bug is still there. I just encountered it during a test flight with the Su-24, and later in a mission in SB. The laser-guided bombs start to deviate chaotically from the target and end up missing. I was dropping the bombs from straight and level flight.
Also affects Q-5L LGB’s in level flight at altitude whether you stay in targeting pod view or not. Bomb should at least land near CCIP indicator but it’s far off mark. From bomb view you can see it wobbling wildly. Only reliable at low altitude close range (~3km).
Seems like it’s affecting all “lock on after release” munitions. I’ve got people reporting it with the laser guided rockets and LGBs from every nation.
@Smin1080p_WT@Stona_WT Sorry for the inconvenience, but most of our laser-guided weapons are broken here. It’s been more than a month (if not two). Could the developers take a look at this?
