Yes I am also aware of this, however if the armour is modelled from BM42, the kinetic reduction should be >400mm.
For the OFL 120 tests we need more information. On some of the documents we have it says that in this test they used a prototype version of Duplet so there is room for doubt. But at the minimum we should have >400mm kinetic reduction in game.
mmmm idunnoboutthat. Tho im not that against that, i`d love Oplot to be better armored, but on the hull, not the turret. Turret is already good enough.
ah i heard much of that, and i still cant decide if its truth or not. There are many different opinions on that. I also remember that some claim that the hull must be 5 layer, tho that looks much unrealistic to me. And some said that them gaijin included the 50mm plate in “protection” stats of the Knife ERA blocks
idk how war thunder models there APFSDS rounds and if they would add a two piece core ammunition simulation to the game my guess probably not but even 3bm42 pen factors are incorrect its closer to 500mm at 100m irl but duplet ERA in game seems to lack nizh ERA it only says its on the roof not the upper front plate
Briefly: in all images and sources we have about the UFP of the BM Oplot, the two layers of ERA are separated by a 50mm RHA plate.
In game, gaijin has decided to model this as a 35mm structural steel plate (Structural steel is 45% as effective as RHA). So basically, not only is the ERA underperforming, but it is additionally missing an entire steel plate.
So here’s that pic that shows the UFP dissasebmled. You can see that the driver’s hatch is higher much than a plate, which is not happening with 80U for example. And you can see the edges that are cutout of the UFP
Well this is the base armour before application of textolite and the module, it shows a 50mm plate, on top of which a 35mm textolite plate will be added. Then the module will be added on top. The module contains 60mm plate, ERA, 50mm plate, ERA, 15mm plate.
It matches up with the images provided before.
In total the armour is supposed to have 7 layers, two of which are in the base armour, and 5 of which are in the module.
There will always be issues with modern vehicles as accurate documents are hard to find and it is mostly a lot of guesswork and trying to balance vehicles
bm oplot is made from ukraine?.. and yes duplet ERA should actually be performing better the relikt because its stacked levels of different ERA nizh and duplet and relikt has only been said to stop 40% of a APFSDS round
The Duplet era is basically two Nizh era blocks, very silimar idea to Relikt, but with different realization. So when i said there’s Nizh on the UFP i ment that
“снижение характеристик бронебойных оперенных подкалиберных снарядов … до 90% от штатной"
which means: reduction of the characteristics [i.e., penetration] of sub-caliber APFSDS shells … up to 90% of their standard meaning 10% degradation, or only a 10% protection
drop
HOWEVER, it is WAY better than relikit in stopping HE, ATGMs (inc tandem), HEATFS
