Recently started to fly the Su-27SM again. I noticed something right away from the runway. It says “Flaps blocked by load”. How is it possible for such a jet to get flaps blocked by load and not being able not even to use “takeoff” or “combat” flap positioning when the flaps are like 30-40 cm away from the missile. The only missile under the flaps are R27ER. I understand we got a buff and thank you Gaijin for these crumbs for us plebs on the russian tree, but can you kindly just give us the god given right to use flaps like every other jet does?

You don’t need takeoff flaps to takeoff with the su27 though. If its true that they don’t work in combat that sucks tho
I understand but it’s not possible and not realistic that such a jet can’t use flaps. I don’t think russian jets just drop their unused missiles before landing because they can’t use flaps.

Curious, it’s only the ER, with ET it works fine.
sounds like the ER doesn’t clear the tiny clearance that the ET does
