Bigger air maps

the map sizes in war thunder top tier air is too small especially with the new missiles I.E aim-120s etc, now I am gonna be expecting people are going to reply with “skill issue” and I understand that view point, but my point of view of the subject is that, I always have to knotch multi path so on and so forth which makes it so much harder for me to get kills because, I have to play dodge ball with almost all of the enemies aim-120s and if even I try to fly off to the side, it just feels like I am playing in a fish bowl, and I am sick of just getting golan heights over and over and over and over, it almost feels like its the only dang map in rotation.

Not a skill issue.

ARB maps are still designed with props / early jets in mind. They really dont work for later SARH carriers let alone ARH carriers.

There is a time and place for smaller maps, some people do enjoy those brawls. (though maybe a tad larger than they are now for top tier) But what is needed is an alternative. Something like Air sim but for RB.

RB EC:

  • PvPvE Gameplay
  • 128km x 128km (currently, I hope they make bigger maps eventually)
  • Multiple spawn points
  • Respawns
  • No enemy markers.

Well AIM-120s are no where near even half the range of the map for “correct” altitudes.
I am still upset that small maps are out of rotation cause Afghanistan is the only real break from medium and large maps right now in air RB.

And I love EC Vietnam, and I also love Port Novo in the air and miss it.

I think Aim-120s were a mistake to be added in the current state war thunder maps are in. makes no sense that I take off and someone who space climbs can already launch a missile at me and I have been in the air a total of 3 min. since they’re already in the game I believe either bigger maps or a game mode where only fox 3 capable aircraft go against each other. Gajin has thought of the game’s future but in the wrong direction. It makes no sense to add more and more things but not give them the room to function

Absolutely. I seriously want to know who approved Small Afghanistan to be a top tier 16v16 ARB map. You are in missile range quite literally as soon as you take off. It’s crowded even for props, I just don’t bother spawning when I get it.
Sim EC maps would work fine even for Realistic.

Bigger maps are not going to change anything. All what happens is that you fly longer to end in a clusterfuck of ARH missiles and IR missiles. A few ppl will go bomb and don’t attack but only 2-3 ppl. The real problem is 16v16 which needs to change, but tbh I also thing that this will just and in a asmaller clusterfuck because ppl will still have as much ammo to clean half the lobby with one full loadout. Top tier overall is trash not because of gajin its because of the players and that the modern weapons are not made to be in a balanced game.

then we need a rework of how ARB works all together (which I am fine with) something like what someone had mentioned in the replies here

One of the biggest issues that Bombers, Interdictors and strike aircraft face in ARB is the fact their location is broadcast to the entire game and thus are rendered a free kill.

Aircraft like the Tornado were designed and intended to come in low and fast, evading enemy radar and CAP, strike a target and withdraw again. They were not designed nor equipped to punch straight through a wall of well armed fighters within a tiny airspace.

No markers within an RB EC gamemode, much like in Sim. would give these strike aircraft the possibilty of engaging PvE targets through the proper use of tactics such as terrain masking.

Even in fighter vs fighter combat. No enemy markers would make the game mode dynamic and would force players to be more observant of their surroundings and make them less likely to over-extend.

I know some players like yourself need crutches like enemy markers, so you can find and kill defenceless bombers for a free kill. But there will always be ARB for that. RB EC would give RB players access to the type of gamemode currently enjoyed by those that play Air Sim.

And people need to be less greddy. Casual gameing is dead. You need to spend a lot of time to do good in this game. Multiplayer PvPs are not what they once were…
Its not the game its the players imo. Not everyone is like this but thats the reality
