Big problem with Mavericks

And this attack aircraft is constantly being nerfed.

There is also the A-7D, it is faster than the A-10, but everything else is just terrible, it is absolutely not agile in the game.

It’s an weapons platform supported by it’s arsenal. It is going to be a tough balance.

AGM-65’s range was always cited at high altitude, not 2000 meters.
Its range has not changed from first implementation.

Others have explained further nuances.

@AlvisWisla Is right and so are the other in the post. Speed plus Altitude gives max range, and the A-10 will always fall short of speed. The rocket as to spend more time accelerating which reduces range.

Its the same reason people tell f-14’s to fly high and fast and release the Aim-54 above mach 1 and 20k feet for best results.

cant launch an AGM-65 at 300mph and 600 feet and expect it to get to its max distance of 14 miles.

At 5,0000 meters I can throw Mavericks at a distance of 11 km track.

When fix just had this problem for last 5 matches

Honestly I know most of the discussion is around the 65D. But since the topic is with regards to the Mavericks the one thing I would like them to do is fix the 65L.

I was not referring to a wikipedia picture.

Someone posted a chart. I don’t know the source the diagram was from but that is what is in question.

This is official Raytheon chart which is widely published:
maverick2

And according to this chart even static launched zero altitude AGM-65 should reach 10+ km.

Which in WT certainly does not reach.

It was from the av8b manual

do you have a solid source for this?

ive looked around a bit and not found one but im not too suprised as it was probably made by hughes aircraft(I found an article attributing it to them) and they were bought out by raytheon in the late 90’s

heres the article PRECISION GUIDED MUNITIONS The New Breed id assume the image was added in the 2005 edit mentioned but ive not managed to find anything about it before this

Can confirm it doesn’t even go 8km.
