Big problem with Mavericks

You’re just wrong on this one bud. Mavericks just do not fly 28km on the deck.

The AGM-65 has two modes… Point and Track. He had the missile locked onto the AA.

It is written that 1100 km per hour. And in our game what is 600 km per hour?

Yes, I aimed the missile at a stationary target. But I noticed that if he directs the racket along the Track, it will fly at least 10 km from the bottom to the top. It looks like the gaijin’s rocket mechanics don’t work. If you aim a missile at the Point, then its range is 6 km, and if you aim it along the track, then its range is 10.5 km.

Ah yes , so we can read . “Maximum Speed” . It doesn’t say that it will ALWAYS reach that speed, that is just the MAXIMUM speed.
Mavericks, like most AGMs, have these things called “Engines” , that burn to provide thrust. These engines don’t burn forever. You will never see a Maverick in-game reach a 15km target from a 600kmh - 2000 meter launch. The engine just doesn’t burn long or hard enough for it to happen.

not to mention wikipedia as a source ewwww

This really is not a big deal, it’s just his misunderstanding of the stat

youre flying something slower than a spitfire so the AGM cant build enough speed to carry it far. the maximum range is only for being high and fast enough, neither thing can the thunderbolt ii do

And this attack aircraft is constantly being nerfed.

There is also the A-7D, it is faster than the A-10, but everything else is just terrible, it is absolutely not agile in the game.

It’s an weapons platform supported by it’s arsenal. It is going to be a tough balance.

AGM-65’s range was always cited at high altitude, not 2000 meters.
Its range has not changed from first implementation.

Others have explained further nuances.

@AlvisWisla Is right and so are the other in the post. Speed plus Altitude gives max range, and the A-10 will always fall short of speed. The rocket as to spend more time accelerating which reduces range.

Its the same reason people tell f-14’s to fly high and fast and release the Aim-54 above mach 1 and 20k feet for best results.

cant launch an AGM-65 at 300mph and 600 feet and expect it to get to its max distance of 14 miles.

Hey demokrat4, can you redo your experiment a few more time’s? Try to get the track for the atgm, and try it at 4000 and 6000 meter’s if you could
