Gaijin has been giving them out for free in crates.
It can do very well at higher BRs. With the right knowledge, it can be trivial to bait people into bad situations, not to mention the BI’s capability to 3rd party extremely easily.

Yeah, only have to dump a few mil to get a 1% chance
That’s spare change for a lot of players
Dude, you’re crying about a plane that you have to spend 200€+ on, at a BR that takes me two minutes to get into, with all servers on.
Does the rarity of a vehicle somehow justify not talking about its strengths at a BR? Also, what crying? I’m the BI player here.
It can do very well at higher BRs. GALWAYLION
Against jet majority teams, the BI has to play opportunistically against anyone who knows how to fight them. It doesn’t mean you won’t get kills (because everyone can make mistakes, and there’s always a newbie who thinks he can stall you or reverse you), but on the whole you’re more a support jet that punishes bad play.
Jets that know how to fight the BI don’t engage you in a turnfight, and boom n zooms you until you run out of fuel so that a teammate can come in and keep up the pressure on you.
Not to get into the the large scale Vietnam map that pops up at 7.7 where you have no chance at impacting the game whatsoever.
It totally can go higher. At 7.3 or 7.7 it’ll still be effective as hell, just people will have to accept there are not able to clown on the entire lobby.
BI basically removes any chance of succesfully dogfighting or energy fighting from enemy team. With BI around it’s high speed BnZ city.
Bad play can be induced in decent players, owing to the fact that they need to come to you to kill you. Give just enough hope that they will get a shot, skirting along the line of life and death, and suddenly all the experience and reason of the attacker goes out of the window. I’ve reversed Yak-3 players in an F3F before, ones that kept their speed and “knew” the right thing to do and kept their speed high. Same with Starfighters and Lightnings when I was playing the G91s.
People are not immune to propaganda, if they see a potential kill, people most of the time will take the risk. And the ones that don’t take any risk, are passive players that won’t threaten you in the slightest.
Also, I CAN SEE TWO BIs AT THE SAME TIME, SEND HELP
I see a BI almost EVERY damn battle.
Being risk-averse in jets is one of the first things you learn as people kill you in props when you try to turnfight them. The BI also has a bit of a reputation as a menace, so while a lot of players will go out of their way to target you, most jet players won’t just turn back into you unless they make the rookie mistake of trusting their teammate to kill you while they’re trying to stall you.
The benefit jet players enjoy in such circumstances is that they don’t need to take a risk. It’s prop players who see a BI at a lower altitude who has to take a risk in angering it when trying to neutralize it.

Join us, Comrade. The skies are red and full of terrors.

Nah, I don’t believe you. You’re not saying the BI should go to 7.3-7.7 because it’ll do well there, you’re saying this because it’s ruined your Ta 152 sessions. And I know this, because I’ve shot you down several times in such sessions, and you were none too civil about it.
Which is fair. Fighting the BI in a prop is an uphill struggle. That doesn’t mean the BI is 7.3-7.7 material. I’ve played matches against jets at those BRs, and it doesn’t hold up.
Yeah, that is spare change for me too, doesn’t change that it is an obscure plane that no one uses except at an obscure BR.
As a 6.0-7.0 enjoyer, it’s starting to get annoying seeing it every single time.
Nah, you should learn how to use it in that environment.
If I can bring the Horten to 8.0-9.0 and do relatively well, and bring the J7W1 to 7.3 and do fairly well, then so can you bring the BI to 7.7 and learn how to get faster planes into bad situations.
Well considering the fact you’re the only one playing 6.0-7.0, yeah, makes sense people are testing out their new toy.
Objectively wrong. Just because you’re ignorant of early jet and late prop tiers doesn’t mean there is no population of players playing at those BRs.
It takes me a minute plus to get into a match at Chinese 6.0-7.7, no one plays those BRs, or very rarely do
No BI acelord shot me down in Ta-152H “several times”, I’ve met one BI guy in A2D a few times, I made him crash :D maybe that was you, hence you remember me so well. I sure as hell don’t remember you. But then again, I mostly remember good players.
Nothing at 7.3 can rival BI’s climb, turn and acceleration, but hey, they can outrun you, how horrible. 7.7 ir would work just fine. Better to have BI sweatlords/statpadders struggle than to see entire lobby massacred by a wonderplane that can produce 25% of thrust with 20 times fuel consumption reduction, lol.
A whole minute, the horror.
You’ve made it very clear, over and over again that “nobody plays props or early jets” as it is an “obscure BR”, so what investment do you have in this thread about an obscure plane at an irrelevant BR?
Who are all of these people I killed in the recent days then, if nobody is playing? And are you SERIOUSLY complaining about waiting 60-90 seconds?
To stir the pot? I’m just waiting for the ribs to be done, so if it means pissing on some BR I generally avoid, eh, it’s worth it for a three minute fight where I tell you to have a good day.
Good job?
I have far less experience facing the BI in jets compared to props but here’s my take based off the numbers.
Even at low altitude, the BI can maintain around 500 MPH TAS at only 30% throttle, which will last about 20 minutes from a full tank, and it can accelerate from takeoff to this speed in seconds. Early jets, especially at 7.0 and below, have poor acceleration, and top speeds not much faster than this. I think that in a 6.0 - 7.0 or 6.3 - 7.3 match on normal sized maps, if the BI is aggressive early in the match by flying directly towards the enemy AF in a high speed, shallow climb there will be basically nothing the jets can do. The BI will reach them with a speed and alt advantage far before they have time to accelerate, and can just start tearing them apart. The more they maneuver trying to avoid or kill the BI, the less chance they have of catching it and the more vulnerable they will be when the rest of the BI’s teammates arrive. The BI is outright superior to any 7.0 jet imo.
For fighting jets which are significantly faster than the BI, like 7.7s or higher, I think the key will be the BI’s rate of climb. You can’t get BnZed relentlessly by an enemy who is far below you, even if they are going 100 mph faster. Sure, the BI would not be able to catch such an opponent without ripping, but other 7.0-7.3 jets would have the same problem in the same situation. In reality, a Meteor Mk. 3 or F3D could only dream of finding itself in a situation where, having been able to so effortlessly outclimb all Mig-15s and Sabres while still being able to go 550 mph TAS, it now can’t dive on them without ripping unless they slow down.
I think from this position at altitude over the combat area, the BI should conserve its fuel by throttling down to maintain ~300-350 mph, and dive opportunistically on anyone who gets too slow. If the enemies are staying fast, stay high. If they are slow, get in there and kill them. Maximize your opportunities by staying just high enough that the enemies cant reach you without exposing themselves for you to attack, but not so high that you accelerate uncontrollably when diving in and/or they have time to dive/accelerate away. This is somewhat similar in method but drastically easier than playing the Ki-200 in an uptier against supersonics.
The BI would suffer from BR compression at 7.0/7.3, but it would still be in a better position than many 7.0 or 7.3 jets. Let’s say you climb up to 20000 feet, and burn through half of your fuel doing so, such that you have only 1 minute left. At 20% throttle, you can still fly at over 500 mph for over 25 minutes. Due to being a rocket the BI benefits massively in fuel economy at high altitude, since drag decreases with increasing altitude, but unlike a prop or jet, thrust actually increases. This makes the BI’s physics-defyingly efficient rocket engine even more insane.
