I would like to suggest the ability to switch the Mg 17 on the Bf 109 F-2 to Mg 131 with 300 rpg like Adolf Galland did with one of his personal Bf 109 F-2 as he considdered the armarment change from 2x Mg FF/M of the E to 1x Mg 151 of the F as a downgrade and it now had insufficent armarment.

Why do i suggest it as a Modification like the Engine cannon change of Mg 151 to Mk 108 like other Bf 109s can and not as a unique plane itself? Sadly (from a game perspective) (with aparently the exception to the allready in game Flegels Bf 109 A) German Plane Ace pilot planes are forbidden (?) to be added to the game and the in game Bf 109 F-2 is allready a non standart one as it is able to equip the RZ-65 Air to air rockets which where a faild project that was abondant rather quickly and this would be then perhaps the only way to get the more unique version in game.

Overall Adolf Galland (who also made the later taken into mass production see through headrestarmor) made 2-3 special Bf 109s F-2 for his personal use as like stated above he saw the new F series as a armed downgrade to the E. He made one F-2 with 2x Mg FF/M in the wings like the E series (which is a too big and imballanced modification for in game imo) and as stated changed on another the 2x Mg 17 to 2x 13 mm MG 131 Something similar (but with bigger blisters) can allready be seen in game on the Bf 109 G-6 which allready has the Mg 131 installed.

What would change? Mostly 3 things.

  1. Mg 17 → Mg 131

  2. 500 rpg → 300 rpg

  3. The engine canopy gets 2 small blisters

  4. 10,2 kg → 20 kg per gun weight

7,92mm Mg 17:

500rpg 1200 rpm 7,92x57mm

13mm Mg 131:

300rpg 900rpm 13x64mm

A slight increase in performance in penetration and AA efficency at the cost of 400 rounds total and 300rpm/g and more weight.

I’d actually play the F2 over the F1 if this were an option. The 15mm by itself (with 2 7.92s) feels pretty pitiful to me in terms of armament even for a 3.0.

Of course it’d be awesome to be able to mount a 151-20mm instead of the 15mm, but I agree that it would be too powerful for the BR.
