Best way to get score on Simulator? F14 Event

I’ll try to ask some dataminers if they could help.

If you are trying to get the most mission score, you need to rocket the airfields and not the bases. Depending on the plane and the amount of rockets you can get anywhere between 700 to 2100 mission score per run. With the 3x multiplier and rank 7 to 8 plane adding 1.2 a 700 run run gives you 2,940 per run in an F4. The f-111 can hold more but cant go super sonic so its slower but carries twice the rockets.

You can easily complete the star challenge in one match in sim. I’m already done with the coupon.

I don’t know honestly I’ve just been having fun in sim and racking up score any way I can. I only do the braindead airbase bombing if the match gets lazy, but even then I try to avoid being shot down to make it harder on myself (and more fun).

Yes and no.

If it didn’t count, it would force Sim players to switch to Realistic. Which is not what I want, at least.

Sometimes taking a smaller bomb load seems to award more points than taking a larger one. At least in the Torando IDS, I’ve noticed taking 12x1000lb bombs and killing 2 bases is basically the same score as taking 5x1000lb bombs and only killing one. The difference is negligible when you can RTB and get back in the air faster. Also lets me take the fuel tanks so I can be a bit more generous with the afterburner.

2x Base kills should reward twice as much as 1x base kill. So not sure as to what is going on there. Though by the fact you said 5x 1000lb I assume you are in the Gr1, so 2x 1000lb are wasted when you run the 12x bomb loadout and drop only onto 2 bases.

But I do agree with the belly only bomb load and the tanks. it is my usual go to (its also far more realistic for the tornado). Though Personally I usually just run 8x bombs. If I end up wasting some, so be it. But if a target of oppotunity appears like a ship or another base, then I have some “spare” bombs to drop on them, and if I end up lofting bombs onto the AF then maximum damage from that too (also means ripple mode can be used instead of bomb series, god I want ripple modes to be improved)

Yes, but it’s not that simple. If you have bomb load for 2 bases, then you get less scorefor each base and in the end you get reward for 2 bases with reduced score.
For example 1 base = 400 points, 2 bases = 800 point + multiplier 0,53 for example then you get 424 RP total.
But if u have bombs for only 1 base then 1 base = 700 points + multiplier 0,55 then you get 385 RP total (This are only example values).
It’s the same story with airfields.

anyway:

I think I won’t get any answer for that. I found on github someone asked the same question and was told he can’t get answer for that.

God damn gaijin make life complicated. Never noticed that before.

I spent some time researching how does bombs work, which loads give best score, with which load my plane is fastest. I even start to make an excel sheet but all has changed with the rocket/bombs nerf :)

Nah, I mainly use the IDS MFG and IDS WTD. Only need 5 bombs per base, the last sliver of health bleeds out.

Intersting. Thought it took 6x Mk83s for a base kill.

It definitely did at some point I’m pretty sure, don’t know when they changed it though.

Also, for score numbers . It’s like 330-360ish per base destroyed with 12 bombs, and 660-680ish with a 5 bomb loadout. Just feels nicer using the 5 bomb loadout too, I like the way the tornado looks with the fuel tanks. I wish they would just tell us what the modifiers for loadouts were in game somewhere.

I shall need to keep an eye out for that in future. Especially if I go on a base killing rampage in something like the buc S2 where I can take out 3.8 bases per sortie.

We don’t get points for kills anymore, if not severe or critical damage, 0 points. They are pushing everyone to become zombers
