What’s the best way to combat them, without a strategic bomber?

You don’t, you get more rewards by killing players

The best way to combat them would be to first kill enemy player fighters, so you can freely attack the AI ships without interruption.

Go 10 km dive bomb; there is a 65% you die doing so tho. it will work just trust

Torpedoes, but its not even worth it.

The rewards are piss poor for killing ships…

But if you really want to, practise dive bombing and line your wings with the ship so all your bombs land on top and not on water

PB4Y with full seamine loadout, pretty easy to use since you only need to predict positions and not timing.

Take some attacker, best might be A-4, take full load of 500 bombs with air-breaks, fuse 0,5s, fly at the sea level toword the carryer and drop it all on carryers deck form few feets.
Works 90% of the time.

I need to kill the ships. I do not care about enemy players

squadron Mosquito bomber w 4000lb bomb can oneshot the IJN battleship in the test drive if you land the bomb next to it. (idk about carriers)
Since it is british it can see the Japan vs US and Britain exclusive maps full of boats to blow up
It can also carry uncle tom rockets while carryin the 4000lb bomb too, it is fast since it is a mosquito and recieves a bombsight.
