Best rank III bomber - B-18B at 4.0 in Air RB, very good high alt performance; extremely difficult to kill if experienced players use them - up to BR 4.7 two base kills with 2 x 600 kg M50, at 5.0 u need 2 bombs for a base; good damage model, nerfed but still “ok” defensive 13,2 akan cannons.
Best rank III fighter disguised as bomber: B7A2 (TT and BP version) BR 3.7 in Air RB, 8 x 60 kg kills every base even in full uptiers. Best weapon vs Yak-3 and CHN Ki-44 spam, very good high alt (=9-10 km alt) performance, outturns everything faster and is faster than everything that turns better
Partially correct, but in direct comparison vs a JP B7A2 a SB2C is just a free kill.

Fighter-bomber multitool swiss knives like mig27m/k, su34, su17m4 (or su22m4 in german tree because its export). All of those have access to essentially mach 2 guided bomb withup to 200kg tnt warhead. All of those are supersonic and have access to air to air munitions to deal with air units as well instead of being rp pinata. Tho iirc mig27k a2g munitions take away a2a missiles so all you get is cannon and mig23 mobility (because mig27 is designation of bomber variant of mig23) which is still better than being huge rp pinata with defensive airsoft guns. Phantoms are also good swiss knife bomber fighter 15 in 1. Specifically e variant because this thing has 6 agm65b and 2 walleyes while being supersonic with 2 good engines (trust me you will feel like gagarin after going from subsonic ayit to this thing). Plus dogfight sparrows but your radar isnt pd and acm is garbage. If enemy is close to surface you will have to use aim9s or m61 vulcan. Otherwise you can catch some high flying guys and even use them in dogfight as name implies.
Would recommend to avoid touching pure bombers because in most cases those are huge, slow and easy to kill targets. And big payload isnt something huge. Just look at american tree where fighters have “tiny” tims and 500, 1000 kg bombs glued to them and they work just fine. Also take a look at a2d1. 2000 kg and 2x 1000 kg bombs + hvars. On turboprob plane. I doubt there is 7.0 bomber which is as good as this thing.

I love low tier bombers, they are the funniest to play, because they can actually defend themselves. My favorite are probably S.81 and BR.20.
The higher you go in BR bombers become less and less effective, becoming easier targets and poorly competing against strike aircraft and fighters with big bombs and especially napalm containers.
From my recent experience, spading French B-26C, almost every battle there were those Wyverns removing all bases before bombers can achieve them.
You can literally get better bombing experience in stuff like French P-63 with napalm than any real bomber.
IL-28 is better. Load is probably worse, but a 2x23mm turret in the back gives a lot of opportunities.
True. Though I dont think ive ever actually been killed by those turrets, a firestreak always works wonders

Sh version can carry a 3000kg bomb which is 1 base + 4 napalms which are 2 bases more.
dont have much experience in bombers because most of them suck however:
Mosquito bomber is very good for 3.7 so id say thats probs best for rank 3
the canberra/B57 are the kings of rank 5 bombers without a doubt.
B57a and mk2 are just bombers, fast enough to get bases or be bomber support in GRB (mk2 can use 4000lb bombs which are superb for CAS)
B57b and mk6 are MONSTERS that will not only get bases in air battles but (because they get guns) then take on the fighters like its nothing. Canberras turn stupid hard to the point that they are as fast as the fighters but can then outrate them in a dogfight. 10/10 bombers i love them

How do you get a Squadron vehicle?
Squadron research is earned through just playing the game normally whilst part of an active squadron. If the squadron has enough activity, you can earn up to 20k every 3 days. Its a little annoying time-gating but otherwise its free
