Best ASB T7 Jet

whats the best jet fighter for ASB i didnt like the f8e felt very limited and the radar kind of sucks (or maybe i do) but its good at dog fighting which doesnt happen that often in ASB so what do yall recommend I will get whatever is the best

F105 Thundergrinder if you like to attack ground targets.

As fighter probably F-4E would be best from these options

Well, i was going to recommend the F-8E, but it seems to be an acquired taste.

The answer really depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

Ginding / “PvE” ? 105 or the 111A. Rocket things, bomb things, run away at the first sign of adversity.

PvPvE either the A-7 or the F-4E. The Corsair is better at the pve part, opposite for the Phantom. Both can hold their own. The Corsair also has the moving map and LANA pod for helping find targets.

PvP F-5E or spend some more time with the F-8E. Both are limited in load outs if you only focus on their missile loads, but offer fantastic gun platforms. The Crusader can even switch to only using a pair of guns at a time, effectively doubling your trigger time.

isnt the f4j better?

what about the f4j i wanna be able to detect enemies easily so i can attack them

I didnt touch the A7 in sim, but from my usage of it in RB i can only say one thing.

I wouldn’t touch it even with a 10 meter stick.

A-10A can do a good job at air simulator battles, not hard to fly, you can either attack ground targets as well air targets, the missiles are effective for that role.

If your objective is primarly air scores, go for a light fighter. The F-4 sure can be good but it will depend. My experience with the F-4EJ ADTW was not good.

yea im trying to get as much points per match as possible

ARB is a completely different environment from Sim Air.

the A-7 brings a huge amount of environmental information for its tier with an airframe, that while definitely not the fastest, is still able to move. you can hit > 500kts with 24 mk.82’s, the LANA and 2 AIM-9’s.

once unloaded, it is quite a capable rate fighter if you keep its speed above 300kts.

The only big issues it has are: No radar, terrible takeoff performance, and mediocre brakes.

Fun fact: the HUD velocity vector, while not working the way it is supposed to, actually gives correct flight path information relative to the horizon while in “normal” mode. The Pitch Lader actually moves relative to the flightpath marker.

The Navy Phantoms are the US tree gateway into the higher ranks.

The 4J is a decent multirole aircraft with some notable shortcomings but some stellar advantages. The largest issue you will face in either the J or S if you buy it is being moved into the 12.X bracket. the competition at these BRs is quite a bit different than the 10.X area, which is generally full of people grinding using the various meta zomber aircraft.

Both navy phantoms have an adequate PD radar, but the PD mode is a velocity search mode, not a ranging mode. this offers 2 deficits: first, you don’t get any ranging information for the contacts in PD until you go to a single target track, and second, the mode is only useful against targets who are heading toward you (head-on). the Phantoms also have a generally pitiful internal fuel supply, and the lack of an internal gun means that you must choose between the external gun pod (which is NOT the same as the C/E Phantom, it is the one from the A-4) or the external fuel tank. I never run the gun pod.

If you are prepared to manage the systems present in these aircraft and willing to deal with the higher caliber opponents you will face, the 4J is a great aircraft. it can pull pure PVP air to air duty, it can do strikes. The AIM-7F is one of the longest-ranged missiles at the tier, and the Phantom can give it some great launch kinematics to really throw it. you can take up to 6, but I generally run 5 with 2 AIM-9s. The Sparrow is your primary weapon and relies on good radar understanding and usage.

Overall, I highly recommend that every US player use at least one of the Navy Phantoms, the skills you develop with them are critical at tier 8 and they are just low enough of a BR to not be completely outclassed.
