Being able to lock on target with an Xbox are a PlayStation

I’m a PC player in this game of War Thunder and I don’t have any advantages like Xbox are PlayStation! I don’t have any hacks I can’t lock on to targets in realistic mode and nobody else should be able to lock on to a target in realistic mode I don’t care if it’s Xbox or PlayStation are PC nobody should have that ability unless you have radar and that’s another thing radar cannot see through trees unless you radar mast is above the trees but it does in War Thunder and as far as I’m concerned that’s a cheat too and on that note you can use a keyboard and mouse on PlayStation and Xbox so admitted it’s a cheat!

Have you already tried to play this game with a controller? If not then you don’t know what you are talking about. Try it and then we can discuss that perception of yours.

How can default controls for console be a hack or cheat? Like I said above several times, it shouldn’t track targets beyond visual area in my opinion but it also doesn’t aim for you since it doesn’t compensate for movement or distance, and doesn’t aim at weakspots, it’s much much faster to aim and fire with a mouse.

If they use a mouse and keyboard then they don’t have the target tracking by default. If they use the hardware you linked, which by the way is against the forum rules, then they are no different to any PC player that installs 3rd party software to get an advantage over other players.

What you cannot do, is call console players using controller/gamepad default controls cheaters just cause they can track targets in RB.

Mate, respectfully, you somehow have a 2:74 K:D and 37% win rate (!) in the Yak1B. Heck, I couldn’t find a vehicle you play regularly with a win rate above 50%. I think your problems with this game go far beyond conspiracy theories associated with a console players.

Out of the box, console players are at such a significant disadvantage in this game that it’s insulting you would even start this thread. We don’t even have yaw or pitch controls enabled by default, let alone the finger gymnastics and dexterity required when compared to moving a mouse slightly and clicking a mouse button.

Well, at least now we know why all this… 🤡

An Xbox and PlayStation can lock on to a target through smoke man this is a cheat and War Thunder is letting this happen talk about BS man!

No
It just lets you de-render obstacles that would otherwise appear under regular draw distance settings, derender shaders that would make targets much more difficult to see under regular settings and derender ground textures that appear under regular settings (most obvious in snow, essentially derendering a third of a meter worth of ground textures that would obscure view) not to mention partical effects

Comparing ULQ to console aircraft tracking is comical. One is a consistent and substantial advantage in ground battles the other is highly situational.

It only works against Aircraft in RB
It also doesn’t work through smoke and solid objects

A picture is worth 1000 words so don’t tell me it won’t work on ground vehicles cause there it is dude so explain to me how I took the picture dude

This is not ULQ setting, but something else.

Learn the game, then we can discuss

Arcade mode? Where all players can do the same (PC included)
AFAIK, the green cross-hairs only appears on AB.

As said above:

  • In RB only additional thing that is possible in consoles is some lock on air targets.
  • The said “lock” is of little use on normal game, most console players don’t even know it is possible and those who know rarely use it
  • ANY statistic or analysis (not to mention players that tried both) shows that PC players have several advantages and better results
  • There are A LOT more videos, pics and tutorials showing how to take advantage of graphic settings
  • Graphic setting that allow spotting ans shooting trough smoke and obstacles is several orders of magnitude better than whatever is being discussed here
  • PC players complaining that consoles have some advantage is plain odd

Additionally:

  • I would be fine with removing the lock…hell, it is rarely used
  • I don’t get WHY some PC players are so annoyed with console players…most of the time we are just easier targets. Low impact players that only want to have some fun with tanks. Pros all use PC.

You just posted a screenshot showing the FPS on the lower left part of your screen, something that doesn’t show when you are playing on a console.
What are you trying to show, that you can also do it on PC? You know that is not even a RB test drive.

I could say the same but instead I would tell you to try the game on a console with a controller, then come back to discuss those fears of yours.

Anybody saying that console players have an advantage is talking out of their ass crack.
You can’t even get basic flying controls on a console. Many flyers will say that a mouse and keyboard is better than a Joystick.

PC players will always pounce of stats during any argument but fail to realise how much those stats are affected by playing on an xbox or PS with a controller and TV.

I am quite proud of how I even lasted the course in WT as an X Box player. The game really did change when I got an X Box X after so long on the old Xbox one.

Must laugh at somebody called ULQ complaining about built in cheats ,Sorry ULQ but come on bro :)

What fears?

I’m just saying that console players have wallhack, that is a fact when it comes to air.

I’m not complaining, just stating how things are.

I watched your CAS film (I was impressed) but I know I can’t do that on the console with the controller.

I cant and probably will never be able to fly to that standard on the XBox with a controller. I cant even do a loop and if I try to mess with the default, it throws everything out and I can’t even get the plane level enough to hit a ground target then. I tried for hours with desoldes YouTube film and no.

The anti CAS zoom/lock thing sounds useful but I cant find it anywhere try as I might. It only clicks in just as I have a tank in my sights and my gun goes up into the sky to chase a speck on the horizon. I have no idea how I turned it on or how I turn it off, mash buttons and swear a lot.

As Ghostsoph said, you can take it away, I don’t care it has done nothing for me in the time I have been playing.

The OP is Just another example of somebody who has no experience of something assuming that somebody is getting something they can’t get. Pretty cheeky when you see what second class citizens console payers are in so many ways.

I actually turned it off as I didn’t find the advantage of having a enemy ground vehicle in my crosshairs and when I’m ready to fire have the sight veer off to some aircraft I can’t shoot with a tank. 99% of the time it got me killed.

Considering the advantages that PC players have, I attempted to try doing console only matches. I was disappointed that this option only works with other PS players which makes for long waiting periods to get into a battle so I went back to cross platform battles.

Gaijin should make console only matches available with Both PS and XB players and not limit it to the game system one is using. The ability to play console only battles with and against XB players would probably lessen wait times.

@GhostSoph - any idea why Gaijin limits console only battles to the game system and not allow PS and XB players to play strictly with each other?

The funny thing is that the bots and suspicious play I’ve seen in WT has always been PC and not console.

Yes. Just an idea, but read in the past this was actually a Sony “request”…you must be able to play PSN only (NOT console only…PSN as it is the Sony customers only).

Bots and hackers are PC only, because it would be hell to hack a console…not saying it can’t be done, but it is much harder for sure.

And what you’re saying that nobody uses this then how come when an enemy tank can see me through trees and brush when he’s only about 200 yards away from me and can shoot and kill my tank without visually seeing my tank and it happens in every damn game except for desert climate games and in desert games, it’s when a tank comes running around the corner and doesn’t have time to see you but launches a God blessed sabot into the side of your tank and kills you all in a split second it’s because he’s holding the button down and it automatically locks onto your tank now I made a video watch it this happens in realistic battle mode for PlayStation and Xbox and it’s BS so fix it and take it out of the game

Nonsense.

The button you’re referring to as a “wall hack”, which is labeled: “Tracking Camera:Enemy” can be bound on PC as well.

Since most controllers have analog/variable triggers, a controller player does have the ability to ‘half-press’ this button to ‘look’ at the target versus ‘locking’ it—something most keyboards don’t offer. However, this party trick is useless given the immense disparity between utilizing free look on a controller versus keyboard.
