I play on PS5 with Controller…what the heck is this “lock on target” and how can I activate it?!
The binding that’s defaulted to L2, The OP is more likely complaining about the grey box that appears around aircraft in RB GF (standard mechanic in NF tbh) than any poxy aim assist if I had to guess, But if they’re talking about the target tracking they’re a fool for doing so since it’s possible on PC as well.
Arcade mode they work for PC player’s but they work with Xbox and PlayStation in realistic mode to and they don’t for PC’s and I guess that community manager probably don’t have an Xbox or PlayStation and he’s on computer so how in the world would he know and I know they were on arcade mode because I have a button on my mouse to hold when I use it but there’s only one problem I don’t like arcade mode but they do work for PlayStation and like I said Xbox in realistic mode too and this is wrong they shouldn’t be a cheat And the community manager don’t want to admit it oh it’s on him are her or whoever they are I don’t care so answer me this question how can somebody lock on to you in a split second without leasing you and hit your tank with pinpoint accuracy and knock out your main gun in a split second I mean come on that should prove that either it’s an aim bot or they can lock onto your tank at long range End the story!
It’s because its near impossible to free look and fly as the same time on controller, hence you cannot track your target lock on tracking makes up for this although personally I don’t use it and just know where the other aircraft is.
In general “Aim Assist” is a crutch that should not exist in any game ever.
Kidz these days are too soft which is why we can’t have nice things anymore.
I’m baffled people are still trying to deny that it exists.
Because PC’s inherently have an advantage, to make up for that gap, they introduced a minor feature that aids console players. Its literally no different than free-look because controller has limited functionality with such a feature.
I don’t understand why people are so upset that console players can automatically lock their sight, all it does is keep the free look camera over the target so they can fly.
The problem is that ‘lock’ can be done even when target is not being seen by the player, aka when target is behind obstacles.
That makes more sense, the issue is not with the feature itself but more the implementation, that I would agree with, perhaps it should be limited so that it can only be done on enemies who are spotted.
If it was only against targets that player can see, then I would have no issue with it.
Still can’t stop laughing at comments from people who just showed that they don’t know much about the game while trying to deny the existsence of it.
I think the most restricted it should be is spotted players, as with free look on pc you could follow them through their red nametag whilst flying.
I can see how it is an advantage, although I definitely don’t think it makes up for how annoyingly difficult it is to fly effectively with a controller, I personally don’t even use this function as it wasted a much needed controllerbind.
In fairness, I think its only bound by default on xbox and not playstation, but it most definitely exists and when I was new I used it a lot.
Again, try to play the game on a console while using a controller, especially ground battles, then come back here to discuss it. You’ll realize how ridiculous is your complaint.
Yeah try using the option when you want it and try getting rid of it when it locks onto a tiny speck in the distance as an enemy tank roll by twenty feet in front of you. Nice try ,no takers.
Well, I’m even more baffled to see PC players complaining about console players having any kind of advantage in this game, especially someone with a name like yours.

Really, I would be truly ashamed of myself if I were some of you.
So You have No problem with ‚wallhack’?
First, I don’t find excuses on console players having any advantage over me, it’s ridiculous.
I know that players cheat in this game but if you see them on YouTube or on banlists almost every one is a PC player, not console players, and the few console players are the ones playing on PC with a console account. And in this case, they are not cheating, they are using their default controls the same way that PC players use theirs and turn better than any controller user in Air Battles.
ULQ is not default, PC players have that option and for years it gave them a big advantage, console players don’t have it. So, do PC players using ULQ have been cheating all these years too?
What we describe here allows You to find targets that You don’t see aka Wallhack and You are defending it.
No, I’m not. I’m just saying it’s ridiculous to say things like the OP said on his first post, saying it’s a cheat when it’s their default controls, saying that if they have it then we(PC players) should have it too(so are you admitting that you want to “cheat” too?), etc… in other words finding excuses, and if you stop to think about all the advantages that PC players have in this game I’m sure you’ll realize how ridiculous it is.
If you ask me, it shouldn’t keep tracking beyond visual area and I don’t remember it ever did with me when I played on console but that is not what the OP is asking here. Do you know how hard it is to aim at weakspots with a controller against mouse users? The tracking just turns the crosshair into the selected target, it doesn’t aim at weakspots and it doesn’t compensate for movement or distance, if someone else comes close to the crosshair it may switch targets and get you killed. If some other enemy appears you can’t just switch to it like you could with a mouse, since you have to select it first, press the tracking button and then lead your gun on weakspots/distance/movement.
You sound almost like you are describing ULQ, “allows You to find targets that You don’t see”.
