I never compared Sprut M to Ariete, the user I replied to was the one doing so.
2S38 being labeled a SPAA would be a buff.
2S38 being 11.3 would require Begleit being 10.7 and HSTVL 12.3. Not my opinion/take.
2S38’s loading mechanism is entirely correct for the game features at this time; War Thunder does not feature double feed loading in-game for any system.
No overheating only impacts SPAA duties, and would change nothing about its anti-tank role.
As for TAM 2C:
Round: Sprut M: 666 vs 494mm of angled armor.
Mobility: TAM 2C.
Gun mechanics [stabilizer, traverse, etc]: TAM 2C.
Optics: Tied.
Physical size: TAM 2C.
Resistance to low-caliber weapons: TAM 2C.
M1128 is also 10.3 with M900, but there’s more context to weapon systems than the penetration.
I will not bring Sprut M into an 11.0 match if my goal is to carry to victory, but I will bring Sprut M over 2S38 cause 2S38 is far worse.
Cool attempted defense of 2S38 on your part though.
PUMA would benefit in the anti-air role without overheating as well.
However, in the anti-tank role where there are usually less shots needed to commit take downs of enemy forces… not as helpful.
Granted, there are many that believe more shots down range helps.
While I myself don’t ascribe to that belief, I understand their perspective and their desires.
I’m a frequent user of PUMAs peashooter and the situation of my gun overheating in crucial moments is pretty common. The amount of shots soviet ERA can just eat can’t be discribed in civil language. And with how unaccurate this gun is (for some reason) - trying to pixel snipe someone in the distance takes a lot of boolets as well.
