Again a russian super IFV at super low BR. Thermal, Kornet and spall liner, all at this BR^^ Sounds more like a 12.3 vehicle.

You do realize the ZT3A2 and AFT09 have similarly powerful ATGMs and thermals at that BR range, right?

ZT3 is also slow, made of tinfoil, has no spall liner and is limited to ATGMs only with less performance than the AT-14. AFT09 has worse thermals and also no gun or spall liner.

You don’t need a gun when you have 3 or 4 1200mm penning tandem ATGMs ready to go lol
The quality of the thermals doesn’t really matter and the AFT09 can just sit behind cover with only the launcher peeking out, so the lack of a spall liner is a moot point
Also, the spall liner isn’t gonna do much for the BTR either due to its crew layout

Which is a disadvantage to having both a gun and missiles. Vehicles with both are far more dangerous than vehicles with one or the other.

You do realize that these tanks can’t always pick their engagement and the versatility of a gun with 900m/s shell velocity is extremely useful in dealing with light armor rushing you down?
Typical players who don’t bother to even touch ATGM only vehicles that don’t know about their weaknesses.

I use the ZT3A2 rather frequently and I’ve been using the Striker/Swingfire, M901 and ADATS (SAM as well, but still launcher only) every now and then as well.
Not having a gun really isn’t that deep. The ATGM only vehicles are missile snipers and the BTR-82AT is a regular APC with an added ATGM launcher.
The entire point of my original reply was to show that having the Kornet and thermals isn’t something that magically turns a vehicle into 12.3 material and the AFT09 and ZT3A2 are proof of that.

Yes, and if they had a gun their versatility would be improved significantly. Because missiles have to deal with gaijin’s bad missile guidance and spotty physics, while guns just work.
Which should be obvious when there are a grand total of zero vehicles at that BR that lack a dart slinging gun. The advantage the BTR-82A has relative to ZT3A2 and the other one is that it can do more than sit in a hole far away and punish bad players for being bad at driving.
Both can work just fine at top-tier all the same. AFT09 especially. Can’t say that about most other classes of vehicles around that BR. But yes, they’re fine at the BR they are. As will this BTR-82AT. Btw, AFT09 isn’t just some sniper. It is to be used close up. It eats rounds the ZT3A2 can only dream of surviving. While having a much more mobile chassis. Play it aggressively.
